Make sure you take pictures
Please make sure you take photos of your carpets and living area on the day you move out. A few weeks after moveout I was sent an e-mail with a bill attached for $500 and was told my security deposit was being held. Zero context on why the carpets were being replaced. No pictures of the damages that they claimed were on the carpets. When I called to ask for proof, none was given and I was told there were no pictures taken of the damages.
I showed Redbrook pictures of the living room carpet on... the day I moved out that showed the carpets were in normal condition with normal wear and tear. The response from Redbrook was the following:
"I sent the photos over to maintenance to review and if you do get a close up to the photo you can see the outline of were the furniture was placed in the living room. My maintenance manager said that it was the same for both bedrooms as well."
This statement shows that Redbrook is charging me $1,000 dollars because the carpet that was protected by my couch was cleaner than the carpet that I stepped on everyday.
Redbrook Apartments are being manipulative and unprofessional. I have tried communicating via email and phone calls but they seem not to care or take this serious.
