Loved our time at Shadowood

My partner and I rented a one bedroom apartment. The space was perfect for us and our dog. Great price for the area. Adequate kitchen, living space, and bedroom, and the walk-in closet might as well have been an extra room! Our appliances all worked well and if there was ever an issue with anything, maintenance was quick to remedy the situation. The office staff is wonderful - very friendly, responsive to tenant's needs, and they really try to make everyone feel welcome. Lots of community events... , a pool area, and very pet-friendly - they recently put in a cute little fenced-in dog area. My dog loved it! We never had any issues with neighbors, and if there was a problem (like children playing in the parking lots) the office staff was quick to handle it and make sure everyone was safe and following policy. It's also in a great location, right on the Anniston/Oxford line (but it's closer to Oxford) so you've got great access to shopping/restaurants at the Exchange, as well as the new Choccolocco Park and Oxford Lake Park and play area and the Oxford Public Library. It's also right across the street from a convenience store, gas station, and a Sonic which were all handy to live by. My advice: live at Shadowood! And if you're making a frozen pizza, take it out a few minutes before the directions say to because the oven runs hot :)

Great Place!

I lived here for over a year and loved it. The property is one of the best in this area. It is also close to everything. I saw the review about not being able to walk to anything and there are stores and restaurants within a block of the apartments. Also saw the review about the office never being open and the phone not getting answered. I never had that problem. I also have friends that live there and they haven't had a complain yet. In this area there isn't much to choose from but this place... is really great.

Not The Best!

The apartments are nice compared to the surrounding properties but the management is horrible. They don't answer the phone, even if they are sitting right there by the phone. If you want something you better get there at least an hour before close because management leaves early. Be careful about sending packages to the office because you don't know when you will get it, especially if you try to pick it up within that hour window. Just not the customer service I expected!! So if customer service... is important and availability then you might want to choose another place to stay.

Amazing Apartments

I have lived at Shadowood for almost a year now and I love everything about it! It is a peaceful neighborhood and also friendly! Like most apartments, I have never had any type of bug issue, whenever something I have a problem and report it, it is fixed immediately. They have done work on the outside of the apartments recently and it looks even more amazing then it did before I moved in! Only thing that I don't like about Shadowood is how the back yard is. If there was a fence that separated the... apartments then I would love that considering the fact that I do have a puppy. Other than that this is the perfect place to live and I would definitely recommend to others.

Pet friendly and quiet!

We have been living in Shadowood for a while now. The first thing we noticed was how quiet these apartments are. The complex is almost completely full and it's less noisy than the house we moved from. Another perk is they are pet friendly. These apartments are older apartments but have been maintained. The pool area is great and we enjoyed it quite a bit this summer. The grounds are very well kept. There are only a few cons I have about the apartments: 1) I wish there was a fenced off area for... the dogs to be able to get off the leash and run. 2) I wish they would take out the trash compact ( trash runs 2x week anyway)and give us another cabinet and 3)this one is really my own laziness and the fact I have to pay to wash/dry clothes but I wish they would make one of the closets to hold a stackable washer/dryer. Other than that I have deside that I love apartment living. The grass is cut weekly, trash picked up twice a week, and if I have a problem I either call and report it or report it using the website and it is fixed quick. I would recommend anyone looking for a nice clean quiet apartment that is close to practically everything to check out shadowood.
