Bad & Unprofessional Management
I have lived all over the world before retiring from the Army. This place was the worst place I ever lived. Noisey! I reported it to the manager & she told me I needed tell Security & they had to hear it firsthand. I reported it & was challenged by the manager about what I heard. She told me the apartment was empty. I lived beneath it & noise was coming from the corporate rented apartment. Clearly there was no oversight of who was in & out of the apartment. I asked to transfer upstairs... because of the noise. The manager told me that the transfer fee was $750. On one of my visits to her ofc I told her I wanted to pay for the transfer. I was told that it changed to $1,000; not once when visiting her ofc previously did she mention a change. The Regional Manager said she changed it. This should have be posted of fee changes. I was overcharged on my final water bill & had to insist that it be corrected. There was a $15 service fee charged in addition to the water bill. I asked the RM about the fee & if it was in the lease. She said it was a contract between the water billing co. & the apartment complex. Ridiculous! I selected this property because of the controlled access (doors left opened/unattended several times). The manager is rude & unprofessional. Her behavior reflects in leadership in that some of the staff initially were professional & friendly but changed. ALL tenants should be treated the same. Two incidents occurred by an employee. I told the employee that it was not appreciated but a 2nd incident occurred. I asked the leasing agent to schedule a meeting w/the manager. I was provided w/a date & time. I arrived 10 minutes early for the meeting. I sat in the waiting area & no one bothered to check if I had arrived. Time passed for the start of the meeting, I had to knock on the door & said I was there for a meeting. I reported both incidents of the employee & the actions of the manager to both the RM & the Corporate Office (CO). I received an email from the CO saying that they had conducted an investigation of my complaint. I questioned what investigation? I also responded to a statement in the email tenants were valued. I told them I didn’t feel valued as tenant w/how I felt they had dismissed my complaint. They responded stating since I didn’t feel valued that I could leave early by offering to let me out of my lease w/in 30 days. I had just signed a 12 month lease, paid a $1,000 transfer fee & paid movers to move me.
