Mold, Bad Management, Theft, and Bad Mail Delivery

All the above, oh I forgot to mention leaky roofs and rodents eat car cables here and there..

disorganised, disrespectful & dishonest management personnel

I read online that many people have had issues getting their full deposit back so when it was time for us to think about leaving, I specifically inquired what we needed to do, in order to avoid that. Amanda reassured me that our place was “immaculate” and I need not worry.

During the pre-move-out inspection, I pointed out that the kitchen cabinet paint was worn off on some of the corners. This was an issue I had spoken to Richard (maintenance) about within the first year of our living there....
He told me they had fired the old painting company because of their subpar work and even gave me a container of touch-up paint, that I never ended up using because it’s simply not my job. Amanda never mentioned we could be charged for painting.

The day we moved I was told by Amanda “It doesn’t even look like you guys lived here.” No mention of possibly being charged for painting. She hugged me goodbye and wished us well.

Three weeks later Amanda called my husband to tell him the check was on the way.
She failed to mention it wasn’t the full check because they were charging us a portion of the painting fee for the cabinets.
When I called to inquire she told me she would look into it and get back to me.
Two days later I called and left a message on the machine.
Three days later I called and left a message with Pedro expressing my desire to be called back that day (Friday).
On Monday I called and left another message with Pedro, very clearly expressing my displeasure and explaining that I would be driving 45 minutes from our new home to HB on Tuesday if I did not hear back from Amanda by 10 am.
Tuesday I drove to Harbour Lights.
I was greeted with a smile and told,” Oh I’ve been meaning to get back to you. The cabinets were deemed more than average wear and tear.”

No plausible explanation as to why I was left waiting for ONE WEEK to hear back or why my calls were not returned or why the possibility of us paying for painting was never mentioned, even though there were multiple occasions during which this would have been appropriate.

I am baffled how a person can be so rude and disrespectful and lie, not only without blushing but with a smile.
I have never written a review in my life but I wish I had been warned so here I am.

The saddest part is that, the way this time ended and the negative feelings I now associate with Harbour Lights could really taint the great memories I have from our time there, but I have decided to not let them.

Customer Service

Good staff and customer service, I called in wanting to know a few different things about the apartment. About living spaces and open areas, all my questions were answered. Devona provided me with all the information I needed, I feel comfortable moving forward here.

The worst place I have ever rent it

The worst place I have ever rent it. The leasing office has the rudest and most unethical staff I have ever dealt with. They forget to mention that the moment you sign your lease with them you will lose all your deposit and may have to pay more money above the deposit. My $500 deposit went away for Apt painting (prorated charge even if the apartment doesn’t need it), apt cleaning, and carpet shampoo. I never have to pay that much before and the max before was $150 for 5 years lease. I thought... at the first it was a mistake because I only stayed for one year so I called the leasing office and left a massage they never return my call so I called again and I spoke with the manager she didn’t even asked what is my apartment number is and she started giving more stories about the reason for the charges. Despite I hired a professional cleaner to clean the apartment they still charge me for the cleaning and when I asked the manager, she told me this why we encourage the residents not to clean their apartment when they are moving out so I told her nobody told me that. She replied back she cannot do anything about it. This is the first time I encounter a parking gates that doesn’t open automatically if you are leavening the parking lot and if your remote battery died out you cannot leave the parking. The first day I moved in one resident got mad and rammed into the gate and break it to leave the parking. The security in this place doesn’t exist there was a couple of homeless guys roaming through the building’s garbage which is located in the building parking lot every day at night time. When I was moving out one of them stopped me and asked for some money to buy food. Apartments are cheaply built and the appliances keep failing. Laundry room has 5 washers, and 4 dryers for about 200 residents the only time I can find empty washer is after 11PM. The only things good about this place is the availability of parking and its closeness to the beach. AVOID THIS PLACE or you will regret it like I did!!!!!
