5 months of Phorid Flies Multiple Residents and Buildings
We have lived here for almost 3 YEARS now. It's been up and down.. from washing machine not working for a month to rude unsolicited confrontations with painter vendors, and our A/C being unplugged with no notification during a 90 degree weekend.
All that aside, the 1 star - worst part about living here has been living with 30+ phorrid flies in our apartment. Crazy part is it is not isolated to us, at least 8 other residents across 2 buildings are also having the problem. At first it was... shrugged off as fruit flies, then properties pest control stated they were fungus flies. The Office tried drying out the soil and making drains for overflowing ac drip, nothing helped. A neighbor had put clear sticky fly traps on their door and caught 50+ over the span of a few days.. After Vector Control examined the flies, they were identified as Phorrid Flies. We have deep cleaned our apartment several times and complained countless times. Here we are 5 months later with our only option from corporate to move out OR leave for a day during the work week and remove food, pet supplies, etc. while the apartment is fumed (not an option for us as 8hr contractors) + why would we fume and expose ourselves to Carcinogens when this is not isolated to us..
Killed a fly in my eye today and 10 have flown into my nose today alone. To add to it the trash regularly over flows (resulting in flies) and a lot of pet owners do not pick up after their dogs (more flies).
All in all, do not live here. It is not what it seems. The office and corporate can be very rude and passive aggressive. It does not seem like the flies or root cause will ever be acknowledged or addressed.
