Truly the finest apartment building I have experienced. It reminds me of an elegant London hotel. It is unparalled in Oakland as it stands alone overlooking Lake Merritt and far beyond. The apartments are HUGE and every single one has a massive balcony. The thick walls and concrete floor make it soundproof. The staff are very attentive. The large, secure parking garage is part of the building itself.

I moved from the east coast a few years ago and after a few missteps ended up at 1200 Lakeshore. I love the view and location! I can walk to BART and be in SF in 20 minutes. The building has a good vibe---it's fun riding the elevators! The people are great. Security is amazing which is very important to me. I don't know where you would find a 40-foot terrace where you can grow a garden in a high rise! I even have a hummingbird feeder with lots of birds! There's a small gym on the 4th floor which... keeps me from making exercise excuses. I can run down for just 20 minutes!
