Much Improved

I have lived in this complex for over 5 years. I must admit that the previous management and leadership had left much to be desired. However, over the last year, management has stepped up the efforts to make Desert Oasis a nice place to live. The front office staff is kind and respectful. They are often great listeners who will work with you. They have taken numerous steps in the right direction to put Desert Oasis on the right track.

One unique addition is ongoing community-building efforts...
that are residential-driven. There are community meetings and even monthly festivals where residents and non-residents can enjoy street fair food, live music, and many vendors.

The security team canvases the area nightly.

The maintenance team that is on staff now is top-notch. They are highly experienced with certifications under their belt. They do not believe in doing things on the cheap, unlike other apartment complexes. There are multiple ways of getting repairs done. Either call the office during their hours or submit an online work order at any time at home. There is always a live person on call in an emergency.

Deceiving

The ladies at the front desk are very deceiving & unprofessional. They were friendly at first. They pretended to have a unit available long enough for my bf and I to pay the apartment fees. After that, they hung up in our face, claimed to return our calls, and became rude during phone calls. All a front for money, what a shame. There are far better apartments for a more reasonable price, utilities included.

DONT DO IT.

I have lived here for 6 months and that is 6 months too long. Nothing is new. They patch and paint at all costs. My kids bathtub is currently peeling and has a hole in it. My guess is this is from the old tenants and they did a quick patch job to hide it. This is by far the worst apartment complex I have ever seen. From the Property management, Office Staff, Maintenance People, and "security" watch, this place is so mismanaged. Some of the residents are great and take pride in their space and... appearance, most do not. People have trash, unwanted furniture, and other unappealing things cluttering their patios. Dogs are hardly ever on a leash, and there is dog poop everywhere. At anytime there could be3-5 people walking their dog and not one will use the bags provided to pick up after them. My children witnessed an aggressive breed of dog that was unleashed attack and almost kill a smaller dog. When I contacted the office to make a report, NOBODY WAS IN THE OFFICE TO PICK UP PHONE. I left not only a voicemail message, but also contacted the office manger by e-mail with the details, I have never received a response at all in this manner.

I was charged $50.00 for a private gate card, to be used at a secured gate...that gate has NEVER been closed since I moved in. Anyone at anytime can walk right threw those gates. When my kids are walking my dog the smell of weed is EVERYWHERE! The kids here are destructive, rude, unsupervised, and disrespectful. The mailroom looks like a tornado hit it. Peoples mail will be sitting out for anyone to open or take it. I have had my rent check found on the ground outside the office by someone who slipped it into my door explaining where they found it.

I received an intend to enter letter stating they needed to do required maintenance on the unit. My son (15) was home sick so I asked if they could reschedule it as I would be in and out all day. Their response was, "sure, it is against the law for us to enter if there is only a minor there." It was to be rescheduled for the next day. Three hours later they entered and my son was so caught off guard and scared he hid in his closest and called me. I was furious and tried to get through to the office for several hours. THEY NEVER PICK UP THE PHONE, NEVER! So I took off work early to address this issue, pulled up to the office, and sure enough they had a sign in the door stating they were closing early AGAIN!!!! Not an hour early, but several hours early as this occurs a lot.

5 Stars

Don't move here. This complex is as is far from five stars as you can possibly get. Good luck having any maintenance issue addressed in a timely manner. You will be lucky if it happens within the same calender year. The front office staff is utterly useless. The police call this place Felony Flats. They do periodic sweeps through here. If Palm Desert has a ghetto this is it.

THE DESERT OASIS IS UNSAFE FOR YOUNG KIDS

I'TS A Con's a Con
The Desert Oasis, Will not show you the truth about the apartment when they do a walk through, they make sure they do not take you near the Laundry rooms, or the Pool area, they make sure you never see the Tennis courts or the Basketball area, but most of all if you have Kids they Make Sure YOU DONT SEE The BROKEN TABLE, the DECAID WOOD PLAY GYM that is unusable. What Eyes See is a Lie after you have signed the Contract and then your in it for 10m, or 22months. BEWARE, THIS...
IS A SCAM, come and look at all these places before you sign up. LOOK AT the KIDS TOT LOT and ask yourself, Can I let my kids play there the answer is HECK NO>>>> its UNSAFE> and No one will do anything about it... its been 22months for me and I'm MOVING the HECK OUT.........GET OUT, Don't resign your Leases and Dont Sign anything in this apartment... Find a apartment that will CARE......
