Cute apartment, not great to live in
The community looks very beautiful and the buildings have a nice charm to them, but that’s about the only thing that is nice about living in Bigelow Commons.
Safety/security did not seem to be a priority for the complex. The exterior doors to the building that I lived in either had the locks jammed so you could not open them or the locks were broken and anyone could just come into the building. Packages were frequently stolen unless you were home at the time of delivery and immediately went on... the hunt for it. It didn’t matter if it got delivered to the mail area of a building or to the “secure” package room, they would often get taken. The package room was even broken into a few days before Christmas this past year. Maintenance was also an issue. Each ticket that I put in took at least a week to get attention, including when wasps were coming inside my apartment. The walls between the units are also incredibly thin. You can hear absolutely everything that your neighbors are doing, it’s almost as if you are in the same room. The apartment I had also had only one small air vent in it, so I needed a dehumidifier and 2 large fans to make the air livable in the summer.
The complex and the apartments are beautiful, but I do not recommend living there. Had I not moved in site unseen from out of state I would not have lived here.
