Moving In Experience

Renting a property can always be stressful, but Raul made it easy and seamless. He was there for all my questions and multiple visits along the way for measurements, etc.

I am very excited to move in and experience life at Candlelight.

DO NOT MOVE HERE

If you love your health and well being, do not move here. The apartments are filled with black mold which they refuse to actually treat. They will just paint over it and ignore you when you tell them it’s coming back. They will not fix a dishwasher until you move out or anything for that matter. The countertops were detached from the walls the kitchen drawers were falling out. Our front window was cracked for a year before they fixed it. The office manager is a whole mother review, she does not... mind her own business. While moving out she checked the dumpster to see what we threw out. She comes out of her apartment, as she lives on property, and will comment on you just simply living your life. We payed our prorated rent and the company refuses to accept it. This place is absolutely horrible to live. It needs to be shut down. Corporate does absolutely nothing, the emails go straight to the office manager. One time the office manager asked me to go to the surrounding apartments to find out where a banging noise was coming from. She is a terrible person and office manager. Elon has no business owning a property. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I have pictures and videos of all the damage, and mold. If I could give this a negative 60 stars, I would.

Terrible property manager. Do NOT move there.

Unjust and unfair property manager. Sharon looks for any little reason to charge you anything. I had a small couch on the patio and she asked to remove it or will charge me. $250 for move in fee but they’ve come up with any excuse to charge EVERYONE $500 non-refundable! Mold is in all apartments not just ours. A big hole developed under the carpet flooring. This was reported as maintenance needed and 3 months later never got fixed until we moved out! Over 3 orders for maintenance requested in... December, we moved out in April with nothing having been fixed as requested. The frame of the door fell with nails almost on our daughter. Had to fix it myself cause no one came to fix it after two months waiting. The AC is so poor and weak, yet Duke energy charges you over a $100 a month if you keep it running. The fridge is constantly running and stove cheapest brands possible and electricity consuming. The insensitive property manager came for inspection the MORNING after Christmas at 9 am!!! She came to inspect all the problems she would NEVER fix and also to announce that they are raising the rent if we want to renew contract. This was 3 months before end of contract. Once I misplaced mail key in the apartment I knew I’d find it I just didn’t have time to keep looking and asked the property manager to help me check as I was expecting urgent mail! She said she doesn’t have a copy and I have to pay $50 to get a new key. The nice maintenance person knew and was surprised I didn’t get help. They assisted and just opened the mail box for me to check! Property manager charged us $50 for application fee for one occupant 5 months after we moved in when the previous property manager said we didn’t have to. When we moved in there were only 2 apartments vacant and when we moved out there were over 30 apartments vacant. Everyone left, including us because the place is overpriced and the property manager is HORRENDOUS. We’ve taken immaculate care of the property and she will find a stain to charge you for complete replacement of carpet. No human understanding empathy or justice at all at this place! You’ve been warned... do NOT move there, especially if you are trying to save money and live peacefully!

Do NOT move here!

I have just recently moved out of Candlelight after my one year lease. I could not wait for it to be over, the apartments are horrible. They have mold, bugs, holes in almost every wall and the air conditioning is the worst. It is NOT centralized AC, it is a stand alone unit and the apartment was always hot. Our unit did not work right and was really loud when it was on. The property manager is NEVER in the office, she was extremely loud and we witnessed her drinking and then she got in her car... and drove away. When it was nearing the end of our lease, she never once contacted us to discussing the moving out procedures or what was expected during move out. I tried contacting her and it took days because she was never in the office. Save yourself the aggravation and do not move here!

Terrible

I moved into a 1 Br apartment at the end of October. The rent I'm paying for the one Br is actually $686.00 not the price shown on this website. Since being here, I have had hardly any sleep due to the neighbor throwing all night parties on the weekends and staying up all night making banging noises. I can't complain to the leasing manager because my neighbor IS the leasing manager. I have contacted the parent company Elon on several occasions and have yet to get a reply. Although I signed a 1... year lease, it is no longer valid due to Candlelight not living up to their end of the agreement. Although the holidays are upon us, I plan on moving before Jan1 so I don't have to pay another month's rent here. The maintenance staff is friendly and helpful. Too bad I can't say the same thing about the leasing manager. The parent company Elon needs to drug test their employees. I don't believe they do. Normal people don't stay up all night. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Terrible. I would give Candlelight Apartments 0 stars but this web site won't allow that.
