Room for improvement

Disappointed in property management and leasing agents; say one thing then do another. Noise level here is terrible and it is questionable if some neighbors realize they are living in an apartment and not a single family home. Some folks smoke in their apartments homes and on their porches or decks, some folks are disrespectful when cleaning or doing other activities in their home and they clean, rearrange furniture, or whatever anytime of the day or night and some folks just simply have no... regard for others living in their vicinity. Just hoping things get better.

Carol excellent customer service

Moved in several weeks ago I have only gotten great service from carol she been amazing in getting my apartment ready when there was no hope in getting it done by the time from she’s there always when needed. One of the reasons I moved there was because of her caring and in charge attitude.. would recommend the heights 100 percent

Thanks
Maria Sanchez

Overpriced for Quality & Customer Service

Lived here awhile ago. While the location is "nice", since you are by a grocery store, movie theater, package store, and various restaurants, it is usually pretty loud at night. I didn't notice too much till I moved to my current complex. You're also off a main road, so be prepared for sirens, loud motorcycles and honking a lot.

That being said, this place is crazy expensive even for the area and the floor plans and upgrades are not good. Our kitchen was teeny- you maybe get 2.5 feet of...
counterspace. The vaulted ceilings make the rooms not feel claustrophobic, but they don't fit much other than a queen-sized bed, and a dresser depending on what room you spend most your time in. The porch is small. The flooring is pretty standard carpet, and then a linoleum patterned like hard wood. I will say the tub was pretty large for an apartment, but that the water pressure of the shower was rather miserable.

The worst was probably office staff- while they seem nice, they will make promises to get you in the door and then not hold to them when the next lease renewal comes around. So definitely mind that bit in the contract that says that the leasing staff isn't obligated to fulfill verbal promises. We were treated pretty rudely whenever an issue came up- I didn't have much experience with big apartment companies when I came to them-. I can say that some of my inexperience was absolutely taken advantage of by a staff that just wanted to fill apartments for the time being and didn't care if they stuck around next lease signing. They'll hike up your lease by as much as legally possible once you sign the first year, expecting you to bite the bullet and stick around so you don't have to move, even if nothing changed in the community, and no new amenities are being added.

The gate is also something to take into account. it's JUST a gate, which means you will have people tailgate you to get in behind you, or drive past the key swipe when you swipe your card. Also, it was CONSTANTLY broken. I mean like, once a month for multiple days at a time. Then they blamed residents when there was a carjacking in the complex. It's not very secure, and I was always concerned to be walking at night since almost anyone could get into the apartments with one gate or the other broken almost always.

Super disappointing- It's not infested with rats or roaches or anything like that, but neither are these the luxury apartments they are priced as.

Let me explain why this is a fair rating.

I have lived at Heights at Towne Lake for a while now, while I can't say that this is the worst apartment community around, I CAN fairly say that for the price you pay, it definitely needs to improve.

There is a no smoking policy except for in the designated smoking areas. This rule is basically never followed. People stand whereever they want outside and drop their butts whereever they want. It makes the property look trashy and unfortunately the multiple notices sent out are not taken...
seriously because there is no follow through.

The same can be said about the pet policy. People let their pets go anywhere and EVERYWHERE and if you aren't paying attention to EVERY step you take, there's a very good chance you might be washing your shoe or tracking it in. This is just obnoxious and disgusting. There are people that walk dogs OFF leash like that is okay in an apartment community. Their dogs run up and sniff you making for stressful situations. Like I said previously, no warning or notice is ever followed through with so the madness continues.

The staff is okay although the property manager acts like she is put off and above you. Half the time she's not there though and half the time NO ONE is.

The fitness area in a true joke. Everything is broken and it smells raunchy in there. The equipment is no where near what other apartment gyms around Woodstock offer.

The apartments are cheaply repaired. Everything, you can tell is done to be basically UNDER cost effective and unfortunately I don't think they realize how much of a toll that takes on calling them "Luxury" apartments. The paint is dull and cheap, as in, it wipes off. The fixtures are painted over, the windows have mold and mildew at MOVE IN, the appliances are cheap and faux stainless steel, the showers are covered up by bad caulking and the base boards are cracked and old. I know I must come off as trying to be rude but this is all true. My point is, if you are charging the rates like they are, at least have something to stand by.

I do like that they offer a washer and dryer and those have seemed to hold up rather well. The pool area is nice too. The people of the community are quite nice besides a few bad eggs. I can smell smoke in our unit quite a bit which goes back to the smoking problem. I think management just really needs to get it together.

I think I have been fair with this review and hope it helps anyone thinking of moving in.
