Save yourself frustration and look elsewhere

I would highly recommend spending your money somewhere else than this place. They say they are a non-smoking place but residents are ALWAYS smoking in their apartments. We sent them multiple complaints (about 10 over a 3 month period) about smoke getting into our apartment and all of our complaints are ignored. We’ve put in repair request in and they’ve ignore them also and closed those cases. Our fridge was leaking where I had a towel under it to soak up the water, and all they did was shove... the towel farther under the fridge (with nothing fixed) and closed the case. The repairman on site is always talking with the guests but is clearly not fixing anything. We’ve also had issues with their amenities, where It took over 4 months for them to fix their movie theater. They make you pay extra for the locked package center but you can never find your packages or they are just thrown outside the center not secured. Also it’s know that they will increase your rent every year, so if you plan on staying there for a few years plan on your rent being as high as a mortgage. The management that’s at the location is clearly useless and everything else is outsourced so it’s difficult to get any answers. I would save yourself headache and disappointment and look elsewhere.

My worst apartment experience

Here is a list of things that broke at this apartment during 1 year of our stay there:
1. Kitchen Cabinets (4 in total)
2. Kitchen Drawers (2 in total)
3. Bathroom Drawers
4. Bathroom tiles
5. Microwave
6. AC Unit

Good luck trying to get any of this fixed. The guy from maintenance took our drawer in December and we got it back in Feb! In the meantime we called the leasing office for the drawer about 2 times and went into the office to personally request the desk back before we finally got it...
back!

Though this apartment community has gates and gives the appearance of a gated community it is not. Last year there were 3 or 4 instances of tires getting stolen from cars! Our car tires were stolen our wheel axles were conveniently placed on plastic crates by the thieves. I had to find tires and fixing the tires in the biting cold and the response that we got from management...was tough luck I am pretty sure that was rough!

Towards the end of our lease water was leaking from the heater unit and it seeped into the walls. Due to this there was a mold infestation that we noticed one fine day. As soon as we noticed the mold infestation we immediately called the maintenance guys who still did not respond to a pending service request on the broken microwave and claimed it was an emergency. It actually was because we had a baby who was now trying to crawl and started touching everything.

The guy came in and started to see what the problem was and started to spray bleach everywhere. The bleach went up into the vents and the entire house had bleach fumes sprouting out through the vents. I had to run out of the house baby, diaper bag and some of her food stuff in hand and run out of the house because of this genius' trigger happy mold solution.

After I moved out they obviously had to change the carpet because it was probably full of mold spores. And yes you guessed it right...they charged me for the carpet replacement!!! The person that I spoke to on the phone regarding this charge had the audacity to tell me that I ignored the mold problem and did not report it as soon as I found out about it. She figured because I was moving out soon I waited until the last minute to inform them about the mold situation so that I would not have to deal with it.

Imagine the craziness in suggesting that I ignored the mold issue because I was moving out soon. Does she think I would put the health of my baby at risk by letting the mold grow to save a couple of dollars?

STAY AWAY

Would give one star if I could. Horrible horrible property. You pay for your monthly parking and there are NEVER available spots. One of our cars was actually towed because the permit sticker was on the dashboard and not on the window. Meanwhile there are five other cars with no stickers that weren’t towed. There are many people here on housing vouchers and the few that live near us are total nightmares and complain about all their surrounding neighbors. The management team will go weeks without... responding to an email and they are extremely rude when you can get in touch with them. We pay a mandatory 10 dollars a month for a renters insurance only to find out we are not allowed to use it. The garbage area is ridiculous, there is 4 small bins for recycling for 12 buildings!!! And then they have the nerve to throw the recycling into the compactor when there is no room! The property LOOKS very nice but don’t be deceived, I would not recommend this place to an enemy!

great location, horrible management and service

The location on the lake is great. Buildings are well spaced out to provide a welcoming feel. We've lived at the lodge for just over ten months. Four story buildings with no elevators. Walls are paper thin. We live on the fourth floor and hear our neighbors below television and bedroom activity. All dogs are permitted. We called about a large dog on the communities restricted breed list in our building and were told the dog was just visiting. Six months later the rather aggressive dog is still... living here. The staff is nice but can not seem to handle simple task. I found myself calling to have the interior halls cleaned on a regular basis. Each time they'd apologize and get someone out a few days later. The snow removal was rarely done causing the side walks to become a hazard. We'd call around noon about the snow and they would send some one down around three to apply salt. The pot holes go months without being filled. Make sure to lock your car and leave nothing in sight, break ins are a regular occurrence. The gym and other amenities recently changed hours due to frequent vandalism and theft. Lots of staff turnover. Prepare to be annoyed
