Very Good Option Downtown
There are far more strengths than weaknesses with The Morton and overall I highly recommend it. For starters, the building is well-maintained and safe. Packages are accepted which is wonderful for working adults - although it's mostly on the honor system because they are all left near the mailboxes and really anyone could grab anything. They have on-site dry cleaning pickup and a decent gym. The courtyard is lovely. The staff is wonderful and accomodating. Moving is as easy as could be with a... freight elevator and dollys available. Each apartment comes with a TV already wall-mounted. All units have their own washers and dryers - incl. studios (and they work really well!) The kitchens are beautiful and functional (quartz counters, dishwasher)- also rare for apartments. Exceptional location. They do a phenomenal job of decorating seasonally, which adds a nice touch. Overall, the building is quiet.
Drawbacks: Parking is down the street the loading zone is often occupied, which can make unloading groceries and other items way more work than it should be - especially as the parking garage has been undergoing remodeling and the elevator nearest The Morton hasn't been working for over a month. This building does not have trash chutes - so each trash room per floor can end up stinky as the week goes on before they are manually emptied. The free wifi is spotty. There are a LOT of dogs in the building so sometimes the elevators smell like dirty dogs. The prices are high - given the parking and despite the location - I would say too high.
