maintenance and staff are a disappointment

Living here has been extremely stressful and I would not recommend living here. In my 8 months living here there has been nothing but issues. We have had leaks in our ceiling, leaks in the kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, toilet, our air conditioning was out for TWO weeks while it was 90° outside and all of these were put in as emergency maintenance requests and they would show up two weeks after the fact that we had to fix it ourselves. You have to constantly call the office to remind them of... issues and half the time you have to call over and over again before they answer. It is ridiculous to have to deal with this over and over again. I woke up this morning and could not even brush my teeth because our water is out in our apartment. My roommates and I are thrilled for our lease to be up in June so that we can move elsewhere. I highly do NOT recommend living at The Reserve!!

Addy, we are committed to providing each and every resident with a positive experience and are proud of our track record in offering high-quality service. However, it does seem that we failed to meet your expectations. We understand it did take 7... days to fully repair your HVAC unit. We did have to order a new unit as these are not stocked locally, however, we were able to offer our fully furnished model apartment home for your use during this time. Maintenance did visit your apartment each day to keep your current unit running until the replacement arrived. We are aware at times it could be difficult to reach our office staff via phone due to us assisting other customers. We have several other options available to residents and guest to reach us such as text message, your RentCafe portal, email, our website, and our trained call center. We unfortunately had an emergency water leak on property the morning your water was turned off. We were able to wait until 10:00am to turn off the water and due to the diligent and swift work of our contractors we had it restored by 2:30pm for everyone. We are very sorry this caused an inconvenience for anyone and is unfortunately not something we can plan for. We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced and hope to turn your experience around. Please feel free to reach out parkplace@heritageproperties.com with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would like the opportunity to make things right.

Shady

Pros: Safer neighborhoods around, Centrally located in Hattiesburg, Gated, high speed internet available

Cons: Gates almost always broken, or you can simply tail behind another car. They've recently just used a generic code, because the gate system isn't working at all. Rent is overpriced for the area, and they reel people in with a move in special that lasts a year until the rate goes way up. At move in there were many repairs that needed to be done throughout the apartment. After asking...
multiple times they only selectively repaired the apartment. They have volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts, but unfortunately they are also in a poor state. The basketball court doesn't have a hoop, it's just a piece of asphalt. They are dog friendly, but dog bags stations are in isolated areas. Depending on where you live in the complex it may be hard to park near your apartment, but there is always parking within a couple minute walk. As one who uses online delivery, it is very frustrating that they receive packages and you're rarely notified by anyone! For rent payment, they no longer accept checks. You're required to enter your bank information, or credit card information (for an extra fee) into their system in order to pay your rent.

Ridiculous

Living in this apartment in the summer it is beautiful and enjoyable, but it would be even more enjoyable if management would come and fix my ac that I have been without for over a week in the middle of June!

Loved it

My family lived at The Reserve for almost 7 years. We LOVED living there. We always felt safe and felt that there was a great mix of families, single people and also college students living there. There were several other long time residents there that we became friends with and are still friends, to this day. Prior to moving in, we knew that occasional noise would be an issue. It is an APARTMENT! If you choose a lower floor, there will be people living above you. When we met with the office... staff during our tour, we told them that we wanted a lower unit because of the ease of unloading groceries, etc. We also asked them to put us into a unit that they felt would be a good fit for us, since we had small children. They placed us in a unit that had another family living above us. It worked well for several years. Once that tenant moved, a group of young college men moved into the upstairs apartment. We decided that we would move into a townhouse on property. The townhouse was WONDERFUL! It was absolutely noise free and we loved having a private backyard and also a garage. I never had any issue with the office staff being rude at all. I can't say enough good things about Jody and Seth. They have several hundred apartments to maintain, plus all of the amenities. They are very busy but always treated our maintenance issues as important and were very professional. It was also nice to have courtesy officers that actually patrolled the property and didn't just accept the position for reduced rent and never actually do anything. When choosing to move into an apartment, you must consider reality. You will hear noise, things will break down or need to be replaced. That is part of apartment life. The positive is that you never have to worry about paying for the repairs, never have to cut grass and you can always feel safe. Please consider the poster when reading reviews. Often times, posters are simply young and this is their first experience living "on their own." I hope that you will choose The Reserve!
