Not worth the rent.
I've been living in Van Mark for almost three years and have barely gone two months without something needing to be repaired and each time a repair is needed, it takes longer and longer for that repair to happen. Here are a few examples:
I submitted a request for the doors to the laundry area two months ago and they still haven't been repaired. This problem has been going on since we moved in two and half years ago. They come in, do a temporary fix and a month later, they're falling again. At... this point, it's a safety issue as I have small children and the doors will fall at any time simply from just walking down the hall.
The light in the kitchen was going out every week and it would take up to two weeks to get a light bulb changed and that didn't happen until I called and said I was having to use a ring light to cook. After dealing with that for about two years, they finally replaced the lighting with what they're putting in the renovated apartments. So we no longer have that problem.
Last year (2022) we went DAYS ((starting December 23rd and last through December 29th) without heat in the middle of a winter storm where temperatures were in the low teens.
It was really nice when I moved in almost three years ago, but now it is HORRIBLE. Do not get your hopes up for "lush landscaping" The grounds are not well kept at all. The pool didn't open until July, was only open during office hours when most tenants are working and we had to travel through the office to enter the pool because for some reason, they refused to unlock the entrance to the pool. The pool closed the first week in August. So we're paying for amenities that we can't freely use.
The rent is increased with each lease renewal, yet no upgrades or improvements are made. So I don't understand what the increase is for. Apparently, they're under new management, but no one else is ever in the office and no one ever answers the phone or returns a call. This apartment complex has gone from good to horrible since we moved in. It's certainly not worth the monthly rent and the renewal increases.
