DON'T believe the hype!
Don't believe the good reviews. They probably haven't had a maintenance issue yet.
The maintenance is ridiculous. At first, they make it seem as though they are nice and responsive. Then, when you have a problem it turns into, well, there's a line or it's not really that important. No AC in 90 degree weather and no heat when it's below freezing is an emergency. Both of these things have happened to me multiple times and each time, I get looked at and talked to as though I have no reason to be... upset. There are bugs (i.e. water bugs and spiders). I told them and apparently, even though I pay for regular treatments, I don't get any until I ask for them. Make that make sense. I asked for the treatments and Maggie told me I was lying and never asked her for regular treatment.
There's no point in calling the emergency maintenance line either. My electrical panel over loaded and was sparking and smelling like burning. I called and nothing. I had to leave work and go to the leasing office to get someone in there to fix it. I called corporate and all they did was give me another number that, you guessed it, no one answers.
All this went downhill after renewing my lease. I have leased apartments in Durham for 10 years and I have never dealt with such a horrible bunch of office and maintenance staff. The end of my lease cannot come soon enough.
