For your own health and sanity DO NOT MOVE HERE!
Soon after our move in we noticed that the refrigerator freezer leaked to the bottom of the unit and would leave over a gallon of water in the drawers that would have to be emptied regularly. We had maintenance come out three times to fix it and they all had a different reason it was happening. The first time they said we had too much food in the freezer, so we never filled it more than halfway after and the problem persisted. This ordeal went on for months and cost us a solid amount of food... that got waterlogged and had to be thrown out. It wasn't until I contacted them and pleaded to have it fixed in a finite way and mentioned the amount of times they'd come out before they replaced the unit, which was extremely old any way.
Soon after this began the "mold situation". It started near the AC units, which are the kind you see in a hotel. Black mold would grow along the side and tops. We personally had them come out three times to clean these units and were given assurances that it wouldn't grow back due to the chemicals they used (it grew back). We then got a ceiling leak, which was remedied with ceiling paint that made the spot less conspicuous, but not by much. The situation came to a head when it started growing along the walls and ceilings of the bedrooms, which included our newborn daughter's nursery. We spoke to our neighbors and they said they have had them come out almost monthly and were given different reasons for why it was happening. I contacted the lease office and mentioned this and they finally got the maintenance manager involved. They came out and did some measurements and told me that the attic has very poor ventilation and high humidity as a result and they were bringing a "contractor" out to fix it. A week later a couple maintenance employees (not contractors) went up and did some work that resulted in pinhole cracks in the ceiling. After this "fix" we started paying attention to the baby monitor readings and were getting numbers as high as 74% humidity. They have come out monthly ever since and the readings are always high using their instruments, but they have never given a plan on when or how this will be resolved. The final straw was when I got pneumonia, which knocked me out for a week after never having such an illness in my life. This is ultimately why we decided to bite the financial bullet and break the lease, which was an extremely tough decision financially.
