Horrible Living

Living here for about 8 months now. Our apartment was dirty and disgusting on move in day. Paint on bathroom mirrors and floorboards. They tried to fix refrigerator twice but it was still leaking water through our entire fridge and pooling in one of the bottom drawers. Replaced with a new fridge and put the door on so crooked the gasket doesn’t seal and light bulb burns out. Freezer is melting and refreezing our food, ruining all of it. Maintenance came and couldn’t fix. Trying to blame this on... stripped screws?! Through the winter, our air conditioner was an ice block. They told us to turn on the emergency heat to get through and have not fixed the problem. My dog has had 2 staph infections since living here and has never had one previously. Lawns are full of dog poop and garbage bins overflowing. Outside and inside noise so loud it’s difficult to sleep without a fan. Dishwasher is so loud we only run it when we leave the apartment (I can literally hear it running when in the shower). I do not recommend moving here. Can’t wait to find a house and leave once I recover from surgery.

Drafty, broken appliances, declining community culture

While management has changed and generally gotten better, the apartments themselves are lacking, and service has not been good in the past. Be ready to have a very high electric bill as the apartments are incredibly drafty and the heat blows cold after 10 minutes. Your electric bill is also handled through Troy Farms, so if you do have any problems or complaints, Minol directs you to apartment management, and apartment management directs you back to Minol. Our dishwasher has not worked properly... in years, despite multiple maintenance requests. We don't even bother to use it anymore. There are paint stains on all of the linoleum floors and kitchen and bathroom counter tops, and the shower was installed cheaply/incorrectly because it makes a VERY loud squeaking sound when you move around in it(good luck sleeping through that because the shower shares a wall with the master bedroom). This is the case in other apartments as well because you can hear the neighbors' showers squeaking through the walls. If the community culture is a concern for you, I will say that in the past 6 months, our entire building has been filled with people who do not speak English, and do not seem concerned about inconveniencing you. There has also been a noticeable increase in the amount of people living in this area in general.

Its a gamble.

Over the course of a year, our appliances, including the AC, broke down on multiple occasions. It has been more than just three or four times. If you are lucky enough to have the AC or any other appliance break down on a Saturday evening, then you can be assured it wont be fixed until Monday, unless you pay $50 out of pocket for emergency maintenance. This fee is attached with all Sunday repairs and it is made very clear when you dial the emergency maintenance number. I will mention that the... maintenance team is very friendly and timely with repairs during the week. Unfortunately, frequently breaking appliances is the case for others as I have asked around the complex. I do believe that if paying bottom dollar for parts and appliances were not the focus, then my review could be completely different. My family has been living in Troy Farms for over a year now. If I can go two months without an appliance breaking down, I would gladly change my review. But hey...maybe it's just bad luck! You can decide if you choose Troy Farms.

Helpful staff

Clean community, very nice view. Better than most apartments in Delaware County. If you need anything, the staff is always happy to help. Its a safe community too. That's super important when you are alone most of the time at home. Everyone is very neighborly.

Great Place

I have lived here for over 9 months and love it. Its very quiet and well taken care of. Lots of green space and ponds. I am a senior citizen and this is the first time I have lived in an apartment and I feel safe and comfortable.
