The only thing luxury is the price you pay
The leasing agents promise many grand things, when in reality it just isn't true. The big point they tout is the gorgeous clubhouse. What they didn't mention during the tour was the main part of the clubhouse is only open during their leasing office hours. So if you work a typical first shift job, you don't get to use the Cafe or lounge areas. The quality of the units is very poor. You can tell the budget went all to the counter tops. The grass isn't mowed consistently, except for around the... clubhouse. In the winter, they didn't clear or salt the sidewalks until 2 days after the storm on several occasions (if they even bothered to clean it). They didn't plow our end of the road, and they skipped some sidewalks near us on occasion. They spread dangerous chemicals on the grass several times and didn't notify the community. They put one single sign about the chemical spread at the complete other side of the complex, stating keep kids and pets out of grass. When we contacted them, the leasing agents said that it wasn't liberty grand that did it, but rather MI Homes that spread the chemicals in liberty grand.....The next day they made sure to have a lot of the keep off grass signs placed throughout.
The people that live at the community speed throughout, and consistently run stopsigns. I sent the complex manager videos, and they said they would address people running stop signs. They never did, but they made sure to email about an upcoming event. Many of the people that live there don't pick up their dog poop, so you'll step in it. Several people let their dogs walk unleashed, the complex does not reprimand any of them. People don't properly throw their garbage away, and just throw it into the building that houses the compactor.
If you have pets, you are required to put down a total of $1,000 in "refundable" security/pet deposits. We were told during the tour that the pet deposit is 100% refundable if there is no damage, as well as the security deposit. Our pets are adults and didn't have any accidents. We left the place in pristine condition, having spent days touching up anything that needed it. The carpet didn't have a single stain.
They sent us our refund of our deposits. Of the $1,000, we recieved less than $20. There is no notation of damage on the sheet, not even in the damage remarks. It just says they replaced the carpet. During our time there, we noticed they removed the carpet of everyone that moved out. So don't count on getting your money back.
