Old, falling apart.

These apartments are terribly insulated leading to electric bills that are double the amount of my 1600 sq ft house that I lived in previously. So be prepared for nearly $200 electric bills in the summer even with the AC kept at 72°.
There has been multiple break ins over the last few years, one which was in the middle of the day on a weekend. Another was early in the morning.
The cabinets are in poor condition and leave a fine saw dust on everything and I constantly have to rinse my dishes...
before using them. A lot of the cabinets are also falling off the hinges because the particle board is disintegrating.
This complex is smoke free. Be prepared for many fake maintenance checks in your building to spy on you and make sure you aren't smoking, have pets you didn't report, have extra people living there, ect. My neighbor was smoking and I was subjected to many of these fake checks for them to try to catch them in the act.
A lot of things were falling apart in my unit and maintenance tried to fix a few of the problems but some things can't be fixed due to these units being so old. Some things just have "patches" on them to temporarily fix them until they break again.
There is no security and the cameras do not work.

Poor

When I first moved in .. I was told pets where allowed of any sizeand age ...when I got there they recanted that statement and showed me their writen policy for dog over 20lbs and younger then 2 years of age. I had an older dog of medium size 40 lbs and was denied unless I gave him up.. I had no choice
To make matter worse the complex brought in contracts to update the apartments. ...
In which case one of there employee
Came back after hours during the night and stole my truck. .....
.and yes the office and the police where notifed ...the complex did nothing to alert thier renters of the crime in the naberhood. There is no way I would live in this complex again

Great Potential, But...

The words come to mind, "it seemed like a good idea at the time! (laughs) I think we have clear case of a once ideal apartment concept that ran onto financial difficulties sometime back in the late 70's/early 80's. No doubt ownership has changed hands. The apartment has a nice great room, but it was hard to keep cool with its high vaulted ceilings. Note to self and everyone else! "Never rent a place with central air conditioning where they had no more insight than to install the unit's... thermostat at the bottom of the staircase in the lower section of the building. Once the air compressor was replaced from the ancient one from the 70's the downstairs can be °60 with the kitchen and the upstairs great room in the 80's. The carpets had been replaced but with very cheap non-durable material. The chimney with its old tin or metal protective covering gets branches and god knows what trapped in it during storms.
Once i had to place a large painting in front of the fireplace as it sounded as though a rabid monkey or worse was scrambling down it to get inside and devour me!

Im very underwhelmed by the fact that the corporate business that owns these units has decided to do repairs on in the kitchen and bathroom after we have already moved in!
The air conditioning has been completely down in 95 degree heat 5 times. I was forced to rent a hotel twice for more than 2 days. The area does have a lot of trees but they had really fallen behind on keeping the branches and leaves etc. cleaned up and out of the gutters.
There is semi-covered parking for only one vehicle.
Its essentially a nice spacious set up but is badly in need of renovation. I'm keeping the faith and looking forward to better days in the "love shack" nestled in the woods.

Upkeep needed

I live at Peppertree. I love the location and that it has covered parking. There is no grass in front of my unit and everytime it rains I have to walk through water up to my ankles and after it runs off I walk through slippery mud. They agree it needs a french drain but refuse to install one. I've been here five years, pay on time and have planted grass the last four years except this year. It took four months to get 5 light bulbs replaced outside. That's a safety and danger issue. Maintenance... issues take forever. They keep raising the rents but don't take care of the property. It's a very large management company.
