Incompetent office staff

Not sure what the criteria is to get hired here but they should definitely do a better job when screening their employees. Their “assistant manager” couldn’t even answer basic questions and kept telling us to come back when her Manager was there…. She seemed irritated to even be helping us, her desk was covered with papers and she kept telling us how busy she was even though there was no one else coming in and the phone didn’t ring once while we were there.

Think Carefully

Convenience, it comes at a price. The yards are pretty, but filled with dog pooh. Extremely loud neighbors. There is no carpeting on second or third floor so you will hear your neighbors talking in a normal voice and everything else they do 24/7. Luxury doesn’t require sleep apparently. The noise pollution from Fred meyers, alarms going off for hours at a time overnight. 169th & Misty are used daily for street racing, and doing donuts. Many of the units have been sitting empty here for months as... the prices continue to climb. They desperately need to implement a parking permit system to eliminate the undesirables. There is a steady flow of homeless in the dumpsters, and stairwells hanging out for hours. There’s a good variety in the neighbors. Many neighbors work from home or are retired so it’s pretty easy to establish some quality friendships here. The on-site management has hosted one single event in the last year to help create a cohesive environment. This place could be so much more if there was a review on the lack of enforcement. Patios need to be cleaned and kept clean, parking needs to be enforced, Surveillance added to common areas to ensure the safety of tenants and staff, focus implemented to include current tenants in any upcoming changes to the property. Stop surprising people with a new poop station outside their bedroom window or smoking station on a non smoking property.
The price point isn’t even the issue. We are happy to pay the price for convenience, service, but everything we have dealt with is no different than what we experienced at our last place for $700 cheaper. The area is beautiful, your unit is spacious, be aware of the lack of overhead lighting, as it’s very difficult to keep the unit lit properly without multiple lamps. The walking trail is a delight, even though it’s completely scattered with hundreds of cigarette butts from our tenants chucking their butts over the wall. There is plenty of natural wild life, we’ve seen many rabbits, beautiful birds, big open sky views. The pool is beautiful at Sunset. Just don’t think that because you’re moving to a luxury property you’re getting luxury. It has nice finishes, it’s very much apartment living at every turn.

Not so luxury

I lived here before I purchased a home.

It’s a luxury apartment complex that is not gated, has no AC, no ceiling fan, limited covered parking for tenants and very small closets. Tenants are not permitted to reverse park their vehicles and not allowed to use portable window AC units. However, I saw tenants reverse park and use portable window AC units regularly. Either management made exceptions for certain people despite the lease contract prohibiting these, or tenants refused to follow the...
lease contract they signed.

It got progressively and aggressively hot in the last few years and living in a luxury apartment with no build-in AC was miserable.

The garbage disposal is slow functioning. There’s one compactor for trash and it’s often times covered in piled up trash/furniture/shopping carts, glass bottles around it.

The price tag of luxury apartment rent felt unjustified.

Unfortunately, Rock Creek Ridge luxury apartments are not insulated enough to sounds from active neighbors. I lived on the topmost floor and the people living below me were very noisy. I heard and felt the vibrations from their apartment. One of them jumped and ran through their apartment routinely. It was very disruptive. That last year that I lived here was plagued by daily disturbances from my downstairs neighbors. Management at the time gave me the solution of terminating my lease and moving out.

I had paid every month’s rent on time in the 3 years that I lived there and I didn’t feel valued as a tenant there. So I took management’s advice. I bought a home and terminated my lease at Rock Creek Ridge apartments. I’m much happier now, so it was a blessing in disguise.

There were some positive attributes; the apartments are open concept, quartz countertops, large kitchen island, large outside storage and I received my security deposit in a timely manner.

Property Manager at Rock Creek Ridge responded to this review

So sorry to see the 2 star review. We try our best to ensure the needs of our Residents are met. We see that you are much happier in a Single Family Home. We understand that living within a multifamily community can be challenging. We build our... communities using high quality construction standards, and unfortunately, they are not 100% soundproof. Our Leasing Office is open 7 days per week and normally takes any lease violation complaints (back in parking, damages to the building, noise complaints made during quiet hours, etc.). Residents may call, email or stop by to discuss any issues with their home with one of our Leasing Professionals. Glad to hear you enjoyed the floor plans, finish packages, and that you received your security deposit accounting promptly.

You will NEVER see your deposit back and expect to OWE!! They rip you off!

What a scam on a deposit! These apartments are new and I even made sure I was doing everything right in ending my lease and leaving the residence correctly. They are trying to charge me $2,000 and no deposit back! Outrageous!

Smoke Free community?

Smoking.. if your looking for a place where you can smoke 5ft away from your apartment having it drift into other neighbors windows or even smoke in your apartment and have it seep through your ceilings to the upstairs tenant then this is the place for you! This "SMOKE FREE" environment will wake you up in the middle of the night and early mornings too (no need for alarm clocks ppl). Seriousness though, I like the staff they're nice and will treat you properly. This is a review about mainly the... tenants and a warning to future tenants. This community is suppose to be smoke free but unfortunately the apartments are not far enough from the Main Street to have your window open, would be great if some of the smoking population would cross the street. If you have kids stay off of 169th, be prepared to buy an AC unit for the summer and get candles for the night time. Hope this review can help at least one person.
P.S I'm typing this review at 2am..
