Enjoyed living here
I didn’t see any recent reviews so I thought I would chime in.
I was extremely hesitant renting here based off of some of the reviews I’d have read on various sites. Ultimately, I decided to take a chance and very glad I did.
In my little over two years I cannot think of any major problems. Maintenance was top notch. My dishwasher stopped working and was replaced within a business day. The washing machine agitator wasn’t working and I received a new machine the following day. Asked the... maintenance manager for some paint that wasn’t flat for the wall across from the kitchen, he dropped off a gallon. Needed to borrow a ladder to hang curtains - it was dropped off same day. Friendly, professional, schedule accommodating..
The common areas and pool (no additional cost to use) were always clean. The refuse room was looked after daily. No bugs or rodents, ever. No problems with neighbours.
The neighbourhood was fine. I worked an awkward night shift schedule for a while and never was worried about safety. I believe there was a catalytic converter theft once in the parking lot one night.
The management team provided tickets to baseball and hockey games at no additional cost. They would also have donuts and coffee from time to time. There’s an annual Christmas party with lots of food, drinks and door prizes. It was always a welcome and friendly environment.
Communication was clear, concerns were addressed in a timely manner.
The only negatives I can think of- I could hear my shared wall neighbour’s TV, along with people talking as they passed by in the hallway.
The traffic on the bridge can be loud, be it emergency vehicles or modified exhausts.
The one elevator was out of commission for over a month while a part was on order but after being fixed, I don’t recall it being down.
With a wall full of windows I highly recommend installing insulated curtains.
The parking lot - unfortunately other residents are not always careful. My brand new car was scratched and dinged up.
Water is billed monthly - it isn’t billed on actual usage but estimated based on the apartment size and number of occupants. Wasn’t a fan. There’s also a $5 fee from the company they use for this. No way to avoid it.
They pass their liability insurance expense onto the tenants by charging an additional $10 a month.
The biggest downside is the 10% rent increase written into the first year lease. That was a hard pill to swallow and ultimately why I made the decision to leave.
