Young professionals beware
We moved in early last summer thinking that the rent for a 1 bedroom was too high for a Drexel undergrad. Nothing against college students (been there, done that), but they tend to live very different lifestyles and have opposite schedules from young professionals.
This wouldn’t be an issue in of itself, but shortly after the Fall semester started the apartment building turned into a glorified dorm. There were bottles and trash strewn all over the hallways, loud parties from tenants in the... hallway and probably the worst - upstairs banging from our new neighbor.
I don’t blame my upstairs neighbor for having fun in college, but the walls here are incredibly thin. We totally didn’t expect this moving in and honestly were expecting more for what we were paying. We politely asked our neighbor to be more considerate of others around her in terms of her noise (namely, please no screaming, stomping parties at 2am on Tuesdays), but that obviously failed.
We really do love the apartment, it’s amenities and the location. So if you’re in college, okay with pounding from your upstairs neighbor or on the top floor, this isn’t a bad place. But for everyone else - head’s up.
As a final note, I think HOW is a great management company overall. We just wish we knew about this when looking for a place and feel that we were misdirected.
