Dirty outdated and dangerous

I was looking at an apt at Huntington Downs. I was shown 3 filthy 1 bedroom apts.
Roaches!! Mice droppings and mouse traps in cabinets. Warped flooring. Stained carpet too.
I also see on FB that a car was stolen overnight here. Yikes

Absolutely AWFUL place to live!

I would avoid this apartment complex at all costs! The office staff is SO unprofessional and incompetent. They pass out notifications with dates from a week to even 2 weeks ago! Apartments are out dated and dirty.
I had 2 weeks left on my lease, they had the maintenance man throw out all my personal belongings and locked me out the apartment. When asked where my things were, the only answer I got was a shrug :-). When I asked why my personal belongings were thrown out, the maintenance man told...
me I had been evicted.....???? Called the front office multiple times and have YET to receive an answer.

Overall, a great place to make home

There are a lot of pros to this place. I've lived here for two years and overall I've really enjoyed staying here. I live in one of the townhomes, and I've always felt like there was enough space for two. The area is fairly quiet except I can definitely hear the interstate traffic if my windows are open. There are a lot of families here, I always see kids playing outside. The complex is pet friendly, they even have a little gated area for a dog to run. I've never had an issue with pests,... excessive noise, or safety.

However, my biggest con was the state of the apartment when we moved in. It was pretty clear that while every thing had been painted, nothing had been really cleaned. Everything felt grimy, cracks/sags in the ceiling, dirty bathrooms. The biggest issue was the dishwasher. The previous tenant clogged the dishwasher and left the water and food sitting in the bottom. No one checked it, and by the time we moved in, it was moldy and reeked! It got fixed within a week, but the smell lingers still. Second biggest issue was a grimy and black bathtub. When we asked them complex about the tub not being cleaned, they basically said cleaning isn't their problem. We tried cleaning it ourselves, but it was no good. We had to call a cleaning service to finally get the bathtub looking clean and grime free again. Not a huge deal, but was definitely frustrating.

But despite all of that, I'd still suggest this place. The price is decent, there's all sorts of amenities, and it feels homey.
