Decent Apartment with Not Great Communication
I lived in this apartment complex with one other person for 2 years. Rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom which was unrenovated (primarily carpeted, yellow walls, and the corkboard counters).
Synopsis: The apartment itself was nice, but management and communication is lacking.
Pros
- Property is nice and well kept.
- The apartment was a good size for the price.
- Neighbors were quiet in my building.
- Felt safe living there.
- Paying rent was simple.
The biggest boon is that it is the nicest... complex in the area, and at no point did I feel unsafe or disrespected by my neighbors. I know this may not be universal, but that was my experience.
Cons
- Communication across the board
- For the area we live in, these apartments are in my opinion overpriced.
- We paid for amenities that we didn't really get to use (i.e., pool is always closed and we received a gate key for a gate that no longer works).
My biggest complaint was the communication with the office and with maintenance. The office is essentially impossible to get a hold of, and no one answers the phone (you can email or go into the office but I still find the phone to be an issue). We also had communication issues up until moveout. Maintenance improved over time, but at first it took days if not weeks to address a maintenance issue, and it was often a band aid on a bigger problem and they would never leave record of being there unless asked. We had one apartment emergency when we first moved in where maintenance could not be gotten a hold of from their emergency line. I don't know if that changed as we didn't have an emergency after that. Hoping they improve on their communication moving forward.
