PESTS GALORE

Very awful experience, was shown a room that looked clean and renovated and not the one I was actually renting. I was told they would be the same. They were completely different in quality. Fleas in the carpet and roaches immediately visible. Stuff moving in the walls.

Hope nothing breaks!

Communication is horrible. Our AC unit broke and is still not fixed. We’ve now experienced 10 weeks without AC. You’re at the mercy of two maintenance workers having to balance 200+ apartments. This complex is horribly managed. We’ve seen 3 waves of new hires in the main office. Even if the maintenance crew gets to your ticket, the buildings are so poorly kept that the floors sink in, the whole closet shelving system is falling apart, the ceilings are bowed in, which was how the apartment was... presented to us when we moved in. These buildings have flat roofs so they’ve got lots of leaks clogging up the maintenance ticket line. I could go on. Look somewhere else.

Place is complete garbage!

Want to live in an overpriced, cockroach invested place? This place is for you! Its not just cockroaches , it’s multiple different kinds and they do nothing about it! If they do spray, the bugs are still there! Its very disgusting! Very old run down apartments! The washer and dryers in each building suck so bad and 90% of the time they are broke down and not working! So much fun right? The trim in the apartment is falling off and paint job is terrible! I have hated every second being here the... two months we have been here and highly regret doing a year lease! I suggest you avoid this place! Save your money and time!!

Worst Complex In My Life

I lived at the meridian complex for 2 years, from January 2021 to January 2023. This is how it went. ence. Now onto the numerous negative qualities.

In 2021, the complex would shut off water roughly twice to three times a month, every month, consistently. Every time it was to repair leaks, but these repairs happened repeatedly during that year with limited notice and unclear effect.

On one occasion, a repair person was sent to do work requiring sawing cement, producing a visible fine dust of...
cement in the apartment hallways and porches. We were given no warning of this. When we asked the repair person if we should have masks on for the dust, he said yes, but the management never said anything about this to any resident.

In July of 2022, a leak occurred which seeped through the roof of the building and into our bathroom ceiling. This caused the bathroom ceiling to drip when it rained and caused the exhaust vent in the bathroom to be unusable. Despite filing numerous tickets and leaving messages with the front office, the water damage to our ceiling was never fixed in the following 6 months of living there, even after the hole in the roof was patched. Maintenance simply closed the ticket and did not acknowledge the ongoing problem.

In September of 2022, the apartment complex began towing cars with expired plates and cosmetic damage, giving residents only a days notice to get the damage fixed or to have their car towed. I know this is within their rights as specified in the lease, but you'd figure with an unresolved leaking ceiling and, from what maintenance told me, numerous other roof leaks on the property, that towing a bunch of cars with cosmetic damage would be low on the priority list.

In October of 2022, my microwave door handle snapped. I called maintenance about 2 times a week for a couple months, with them telling me that they were overwhelmed with requests and waiting on a part, but that the handle would be fixed soon. When I moved out 3 months later, the handle was still broken.

In addition to this litany of problems, there were roaches and the laundry rooms are consistently filthy and not maintained in any manner by the property.

In short, living at the Meridian, especially for the last year, was the worst experience I have ever had in a rental unit.

Has a lot to work on

I have lived here a few years.

Things that I have loved: I absolutely love the location. That is I believe one of the best located apartment locations in Knoxville. Initially, the maintenance was always quick, pest control always responsive (which we pay monthly for), they worked with me on annual rent increases and even worked with me when there was a mixup with my online utility payments. The price was also extremely competitive.

Major Current Issues: Pest control is not responsive,...
accessibility to maintenance is impossible, leaks on ceilings and getting staff on the phone is impossible (they are good people who work hard, just overwhelmed), I have had to ask off to get to them because they never get back to me.

Minor Issues: I really did not like them not working with me on grandfathered rent increases, when it rains heavy the water outside runs a little high and the laundry rooms receive very little care.
