Agree about cockroaches...
I can for sure say that Everton at Belmar isn't a place I would want to stay again. Like several of the ladies mentioned this apartment complex isn't the greatest. I was neighbors with poster about cockroaches and I can concur with her about the problem; it was awful. The other annoyance was to hear an office employee tell you they know there's a problem with roaches but they aren’t actively doing anything about it. Every morning when I left for work around 6:30 am I would see them... crawling all over the ground in the complex on top of having them in the apartments. A recent allergy test now confirms cockroaches as a new allergen. I wonder why!!!??
On Top of that my AC/heater never worked properly. They just put a Band-Aid on things that really need to be replaced. My bedroom was always 10° colder or hotter depending on the weather no matter how often I ran the AC or the heater. It got to the point where I had to go out and get an electric blanket, small portable heater for the winter and a fan for the summer months. I was even thinking about purchasing a portable AC before the summer hits so I’m not sweating like crazy. The vents always blew out these black specs and it covered my dishes and coffee mugs, and mixer that weren’t inside the cabinets. Don’t even get me started on the trash and dumpsters.
My other issue is the terrible communication they have with tenants about known problems. I was never able to use my payment coupon to pay rent. They were told about the situation yet didn't seem to care to fix it and charged me late fees even though they know about me not being able to pay and the code not being reset by the company or complex. I was even told they were doing me a favor by allowing me to pay by money order. How are you doing me a favor when things on your end don't work??!! I was told by the office manager that they knew it wasn’t working but corporate office never followed through.
Another issue was with renewing of my lease. They would constantly forget to give me the renewal. They also put false dates for the renewal because they couldn't keep up with the dates. When I electronically sign something there is a date on it yet you change it?!
Other posters mentioned how rude they were if you decided to go into the office and ask for assistance. It was like I was putting them out or annoying them. Wow this is your job. I sure hope you will think twice before renting here.
