Terrible Apartment - Stay away!

I wish I listened to the other reviews before living here. DO NOT LIVE AT THE BRIXTON! We’ve had multiple issues with our apartment with our calls going unanswered and the issues not being resolved. There’s been black debris blowing from our AC vents for over 6 months, it’s been attempted to be fixed 6 times with it continuing to get worse. The management is absolutely incompetent and lies to you (if they even answer the phone or messages). The gates are always broken and left open. We’ve had... packages stolen from the mailroom since anyone can access it and they refuse to install cameras. This apartment is old with a fresh coat of paint on top, don’t be fooled by initial impressions. Since leaving, the apartment has already been listed again as available so we know that no fixes have been completed and the next renter will have the same debris. Stay away, or you’ll regret signing the lease.

Worse than ever

I've lived here for over 7 years. It's always been fairly hit or miss, in just about every area. The grounds are not well kept. A tree fell down on some cars a few years back, and after waiting for over a year, they finally got rid of the stump and decided a 10 foot by 10 foot mud hole was a good way to leave things. Customer service was always spotty, but now, with the new owners and (I use this word lightly) office staff, it's become almost unliveable. For months, there was no way to make... maintenance requests, or contact the office, or even find out what our monthly rent was. That's right, for months, they couldn't tell anyone how much to make their check (since there was no online service) out for. THEN, they misplaced a bunch of people's checks and instead of reaching out to correct THEIR mistake, they just threatened to evict everyone. They just put a note on everyone's door one night. WHAT?! Crime is rampant here, as well. The lockers and mail boxes have been broken into multiple times. Someone tried to break into our apartment from our patio and proceeded to break our deadbolt. We reached out to request it be changed or fixed....nothing....not a word....Just don't move here. Seriously. I've been renting for over 20 years, and never have I ever experienced such ineptitude and a complete and utter lack of willingness to do one's job.

Management is horrible

I've lived here for over 10 years. This used to be a great community. Now the management only cares about increasing rent and making a profit! Manager won't even call you back. Landscaping, or should I say lack of landscaping, is now mud and rocks. The handful of us long term residents are moving or planning to move. You can get so much more for the rents they are charging here! Don't lease at The Brixton.

New resident feedback

I had to move to Dallas on very short notice to take a new job. The staff was very through and walked me through the leasing process remotely. I was very pleased with the apartment and continued support from the staff.

By Default

What turned out to be my new apartment home by default turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Perfect location. Right off the Dallas tollway. Great neighbors. They been living here for years which to me says a lot about the complex. My apartment is much more spacious than I thought. Maintenance stays on top of repairs. Rent is average for this area. The apartment office staff is great. They're always having something for The Brixton tenants such as Saturday morning breakfast, tea and cookie... social, a fitness event and I've only been here about a month and half. I love it here.
