Run

When I moved over here it was pretty nice. I’m approaching year number two. I would renew my lease but it has gotten so bad. First if you don’t smoke weed you don’t want to live here. Someone in my building smokes so much weed that it comes through the walls if I’m sitting on my couch watching TV I have to leave the room. Some days I come home my house stinks. It’s not a regular weed smell it’s that stinky funky skunk like sent. My clothes my hair my furniture smells like I’m a smoker. I... frebreze twice a day I have air fresheners by my door in the bedroom plugged in I also have a wax warmer in the living room a mister in dining and in the bathroom one in the dining room but my house still stinks. I spend so much money on air freshening products it’s ridiculous. I’ve had people who don’t live with me asked me if I smoke that’s how bad it is. I told management they do absolutely nothing. They said they changed the filters and when they came to my house they didn’t smell anything if I’m burning all these air fresheners and it’s during the day people at work the air fresheners temporarily take the smell out. But to imply that I’m lying about what I experienceon a daily basis is insulting and pisses me off. I told them they need to come to my house at night when this person is home or on the weekend well they’re sitting around smoking. My living room set isn’t a year old. The smoke is ruining my furniture it’s not is it fair that I work to buy nice things and pay my rent every month and I cannot even sit in my living room and enjoy. I don’t want to have company because it’s embarrassing for someone to walk in your house and sniff and smell and comment it stinks when they know that you keep a clean home. Not only that but for the past month I’ve seen so many roaches more roaches that I have ever seen total in the 2 years living here combined.

Not to mention the fact that we had to get parking passes on our cars but peoples company is always backed up in front of your door or building and you can’t hardly find a parking spot you have to rush home early. So why do we have a parking pass and they don’t enforce towing. Management has changed and things are so different if you’re clean don’t smoke and dont want to cut your day to rush home to beat visitors to park don’t move here.

Noisy Neighbors

I have complained about our noisy neighbors who make noises, cursing, yelling, slamming doors after midnight every night and nothing has been done. I will not be renewing with them!!!

Loved Living At Ten Pines

I rarely live at an apartment property for more than a one year lease term. However, I loved Ten Pines at Summerwood and stayed for 5 years! I love the layout of the apartments and it helps that they are fairly new. I never had any major problems there. I felt very safe and my neighbors were always nice. My only problem was having to email an outside company to obtain a daily visitor pass for my guests. One of the reasons I was able to stay so long was due to the Assistant Manager, Janessia! She... was always so helpful and went above the call of duty to ensure that our needs were met. She was always smiling, friendly, and upbeat! She made you feel like you were always welcome there. You don’t always get that in apartment management. This meant a lot to me! I will truly miss it there!!!

Overall good experience.

I lived here for a year back from 2014-2015. The community itself is beautiful, from the apartments themselves, to the office and the pool area. I had two dogs and always enjoyed walking them around the complex. The front office staff were pretty great, especially when we moved in. The move-in process was cheap and painless and they were very accommodating to my large breed dogs, both of which were over 100lbs. Yes, the apartments are on the pricey side, but that is attributable to the area. I... think for the handful of miscues they have, they should be about 50-100/month less expensive than they are. The entire time I lived there, I never really had any issues outside of my unresolved noise complaints. Maintenance issues were resolved almost immediately. Mail service was fantastic, as well grounds upkeep. I only moved out because I bought a house, but when I did, I again had zero issues. I was concerned because I had mounted my TVs to the walls and left holes where I drilled and dropped the wires. I figured I would just pay whatever fee they assessed for fixing them, but I never heard a word about it. They allowed me to re-paint one of the walls in my bedroom and I was not charged for that either. There was a hiccup regarding my move out date and at first they wanted me to pay for another month of rent at an increased price, but when I clarified to them what I had agreed to when I moved in, they allowed me to stay another month at my regular rate.

My gripes - as other reviewers have stated, the walls must be very thin. I lived on the first floor with a 2 bedroom family of 4 living on the floor above me and I heard them constantly. Not just day-to-day footsteps and activity (which is tolerable and expected) as they move around, but they were very, very rowdy. For Christmas, apparently one of the kids was bought a drumset that the parents had no qualms about him playing at any time, which he did. I brought this up to management and got zero help about it. The train - there is a train that runs directly (and I mean DIRECTLY) behind the complex. I was relatively close to it and I could hear it. A lot. It ran during the day, but honestly it is mostly at night and because it was going under an overpass nearby, it honked it's horn every time. I asked about this and they said there was nothing they could do about it.
