Run, Don't Walk Away from Renting Here!

Horrific management group and a revolving door of progressively worse managers. They towed my daughter's car because they changed their parking assignments and failed to notify her... even though we were paying a hefty monthly charget to park! The apartment flooded for hours one late night and our family did the clean up, mostly by ourselves. The manager refused to reimburse my kids for ruined items and never said thanks for helping out, nor did they apologize for the inconvenience. Poor managed... and certainly could care less about their tenants. Zero Stars, Negative Stars

Look for a better place

Lived here for a year and the first 2 months which were June thru August I had no A/C and management still charged everything full price which is ridiculous since I later found out that other residents with out a/c where getting discounts and or accommodations . Ac was replaced but still if you like your apartment cooler than 71 or 72 °f during a super hot summer day trust me look elsewhere .also the units rarely get carpets washed when people moved out which is gross ??
.only thing good here...
was the maintaince person they used to have . Paulo was a great maintenance tech and always looking for a way to get things done fast and efficiently.

Not maintained, overpriced and major issues

-For $2,200 to over $2,600 for a 1 bedroom there are much better options
-PEG companies built cheaply and have significantly under invested in upkeep/maint
-Rugs are filthy on every floor, full of stains.
-Vivint system is virtually useless. The app doesn't consistently open or lock the door.
You can't use it to open the electronic locks on the external doors.
-The building has had vagrants, thiefs and unwelcome solicitors wandering the halls on
multiple occasions.
-My bike lock was cut, items...
stolen from my car and several other in my first week here
-Hot water heaters just flooded over 10 units this past week. Residents said this has
happened previously.Management did not pay for cleanup, item replacement or make it up
to residents in another way. Since most people have a $500-$1,000 deductible they got hurt 2x
-In just 6 months we have had 3 separate managers and 3 different maintenance techs
-Delivered packages are left out, unsecured and have been stolen.
-Gym is small, lacks key gear and has wobbly bench, incomplete weight set and other broken
items. Your back is to the door on the treadmill & eliptical which can be uncomfortable
and vulnerable especially when alone early or late.
-The smoke/exhaust from SOMI restaurant fills the gym and even the hallways at times
-Wilmington Ave is extremely busy with commercial traffic, construction and deliveries.
Often trucks & delivery vehicles are double parked and have blocked residents in
-Homeless surround the neighborhood with growing camps at Fairmont park, Hidden Hollow
Sugarhouse park and other spots. Crime is significantly under reported due to the lack
of police, liberal city policies, hurdles to file reports and overwhelmed businesses.
Every business in the area have been broken into or vandalized in some manner.
-The security company does 1-2 drive bys a night. They rarely get out of the car.
-The front & side doors have been forced open several times. the front door lock fails
to fully lock in extreme cold or heat leaving the whole building unsecure all night
-The parking garage is filthy. Urine, trash and dust on the floors need cleanup.

Pros of living here for the past two years:
Location is great being by the park, Target, Whole Foods.

Cons:
-Management has a high turnover. Current manager's attitude is to do as little as possible for you, not very friendly like the previous managers in my experience. I've given the benefit of the doubt that maybe he just had a bad day when I went down to ask about getting our callbox set up, or the day I asked for help lifting a package into my wagon from the mail room right in front of his...
office since I had my baby with me. After a few simple tasks I needed done and having been met with a "too good" to assist attitude I don't think it is just a bad day for him, it is how he is. Just noting that the title of apartment manager isn't impressive enough to have that kind of attitude. Husband is a surgeon and doesn't even have that "too good for you" attitude because it is gross. Truly never a good look on anyone.
-Elevators are broken often, sometimes at the same time. As a new mom, I can't go down 7 flights of stairs with the stroller obviously, so I get trapped. I asked management about our move out day and if the elevators are not working, can we call someone to assist and his response was "it's not considered an emergency so there isn't anything we could do." It would be an emergency for us because we are on a timeline moving out of state for a job. Just keep in mind for your move in date and move out date that if you need the elevator, it might be broken and the manager doesn't care to help. If you're moving on a weekend, management can not be bothered so good luck. FYI the elevator was broken the day I went in to ask about this and he didn't even know about it... or realized this is an urgent issue.
-Noise. Like other reviewers have said, noise is an issue. We lived on a mid level floor initially coming here but the noise surrounding was insanely loud we moved up to the top floor. I recorded the walls and ceiling bouncing from the stomping and volume because management at the time thought it was just someone's washer.
-AC/Heat. Each new season seemed to bring an AC/Heat break down. It usually took maintenance several tries before they could fix it.
- When we moved in, it was on a Sunday so like I said, management just absolutely will not make themselves available. The manager put our key in the bushes for us to get upon arriving.

Over all it's been a meh place to live. If I knew what I do now I would not have moved here.
