Find somewhere better
This place is affordable, but other than that this is not the best place to live. I've had nothing but problem after problem since moving here. Walls are thin and neighbors are noisy. People will have loud parties where they blast the same three songs from early morning until late at night, with their friends drunkenly loitering in the apartment hallways at night. People smoke in the building and the stench wafts into my unit.
There are designated days where trash is collected from outside of... people's doors, but people will leave their trash sitting out all day every day. The custodian does a great job cleaning the hallways, but hours later all sorts of trash and dirt will be back. During the height of the pandemic they cleaned Monday through Friday, but now they're back to cleaning once a week.
The appliances constantly break down and I've had maintenance workers in and out of here to repair them. They also do constant unnecessary upgrades and there are contractors in and out of here regularly, even in the middle of a pandemic. I had to tell them to wear masks before entering my unit. I've never lived anywhere where contractors were in my unit on average of every other week until I moved to Lloyd Apartments. Other places I've lived at contract work and upgrades were minimal and minimally disruptive.
And do not get me started on the pests. Due to the above mentioned trash issue, rodents and roaches have a free-for-all in the building. The exterminator will come but the effects are temporary. They even have mandatory seasonal pest treatments too. Good luck finding a place to temporarily put your stuff during then, since the recent electric unit upgrades took up bedroom closet and linen closet space.
I'll say that the workers are friendly and decent, but that doesn't make for a good living experience. A lot of positive reviews during certain times, like April 2020, are because they posted a message to the tenant portal saying that they'd give people free hand sanitizer for reviews. That's not right.
If you have the means, move somewhere better. I will be doing just that when I can finally afford to move somewhere else.
