Terrible move-in experience would not recommend
Current resident who had a terrible experience moving in, causing me to lose over $1k, more than half a day and left me very stressed.
My lease started on May 19, 2023, and I ensured that I fulfilled all the requirements for moving in (paying all the fees, etc.), which is vindicated by my move-in confirmation email. My roommate, came earlier in the day and was able to get his keys and move in a couple items. Because of work, I wanted to move as soon and as fast as possible, so I hired a couple... individuals from TaskRabbit who assisted me with my relocation. At around 9:30 p.m., I reached the building to move in and offload my items. When I initially entered the building, the concierge, Charlene, gave me the keys and told me everything was fine. My helpers and I then proceeded to offload and assemble my items, which included some furniture, a computer setup, a bed, kitchen appliances, and a bunch of other belongings. We were just about done with the move-in at around 10:30 p.m. when the concierge came to the loading dock and informed me that my payment wasn't verified, and she shouldn't have given me the key or allowed me to move in. This was confusing, as I got an email stating that my move-in was confirmed, compounded by the fact that my roommate was able to move in when the lease is in my name. I proceeded to sign in to the 220livingsecurecafe payment account and showed her that all the fees were paid, along with the email I received stating my move-in confirmation.
However, she didn't budge; she told me that I needed to move all my stuff back to the truck and come back tomorrow to talk to the leasing agent. At this point, I was quite furious that she didn't acknowledge any of my items, but to make matters worse, she maintained that I needed to remove all of my stuff and that I couldn't leave it overnight or until I resolved the issue with the leasing agents. After arguing for a while, I realized I had no choice, so my helpers (who I'm paying by the hour), and I started disassembling everything and moving it back to the truck. In the process of moving everything out, she realized she made an error, and told me it was actually fine to move in and that I'd get a follow-up email from the leasing agent tomorrow (which I never received). The movers and I then brought the items from the truck and reassembled them for a second time; we completed the move at around 2 a.m.
If you value your time, money, and sanity, please do not sign a lease at this place.
