Apartment living at its best!!

Love living in this beautiful apt. community. Erica (manager) and staff are very professional and requests are immediately addressed. I feel very safe living here, security is the best of any apartment complex I’ve ever lived in!! Location is awesome.

Not soundproof at all

I've been living here for half a year now and I regretted it ever since my upstairs neighbor moved in. I realized the day of their move-in that it was nothing of their wrongdoing, but that this apartment is very poorly built. Yes, the new stainless steel kitchenware and hardwood floors are nice, but the builders put no effort into soundproof. I picked this apartment complex over the ones in downtown because I wanted a quieter house, but boy was I wrong. My next door neighbor blasts his music day... and night and I had the leasing office contact him and overheard another neighbor complaining to him, but he doesn't seem to stop. I hear occasional yelling through the walls, but that's the least of my problems. I always sleep with earplugs because of my neighbors. I can't say anything about the thumping that starts at 5am in the morning because that's just how my upstairs neighbors walk. I moved here ignoring another reviewer talking about the lack of soundproof because I had a colleague who lived here, but if it was any easier for me to move out, I would definitely have done that instead of suffering through months of annoying bass through the walls. I have another colleague, whom I've met later, who moved out the second his lease was over because he couldn't stand hearing everything.
If you don't mind any of that or have a lucky feeling about getting neighbors that walk quieter or play music at a considerate level, this place is great. The leasing office responds promptly to any issues in the apartment. Parking lot always has plenty of spaces for guests and tenants. It's 5 minute walk from the beach and overall a nice quiet neighborhood.
I can't wait to move out and have some quiet and peace.

Love it here!

We have lived here almost a year. I would gladly move here again! The neighbors are friendly and quiet! The management company has been very responsive to all of our needs. I have used the clubhouse for various activities including work parties, baby showers, and personal gatherings. Everyone who comes in is quite impressed. I love that the clubhouse has a full kitchen including a stove and oven. The pool is gorgeous. I love that it includes a bar, 2 grills and multiple seating areas including... tables to sit and dine with friends. We have happy hour on Friday evenings to catch up with the entire building. We are walking distance from several restaurants and bars. I also like that the building is locked with required key entry.

opinion after 10 months.

I have been here close to a year now , so time to write my review.
The Pros: 50% discount on nearby slip and boat storage rental (big plus for me) . Beautiful view of the marina (depending where you are situated ). Decent Clubhouse available for functions . undercover parking available with a secured entrance gate ,monitored by cameras so I believe . Nearby bars and restaurants . Apartment maintenance staff in my opinion do a great job. I have had a few minor issues and they have been taken...
care of in a timely manner , any thing simple , I'll likely fix myself if it bugs me that much.
Overall a friendly and plesant community of renters here.

The Cons: would have preferred a parking spot on some level as my apartment (ground level) as now I find myself taking elevator down or walking down a level or two (depending on spots available ) . Having Said that, at least my vehicle is more secure behind the gates I suppose plus I could use the extra exercise anyway. My gripe, I was informed at time of move in, I could park anywhere , including ground level? I agree with the other review listed, parking spots should be assigned , it works , eventually.
Short notice apartment maintenance , such as smoke detector checks, fire alarm testing etc. would prefer better notice so I can
Plan accordingly, not that I can afford to take time off work to be present but would like the option .

Summary: Personlly , coming from a prior luxury apartment complex in Ghent (4 yrs) there are similarities with new apartment buildings and new management teams. I really cannot complain too much , I haven't had the issues other reviews have noted , although I tend to think i got lucky....
There has been , in my opinion excessive maintenance work going on with the drainage and sewer lines.
( I understand this was due to city codes not being met or inspected at the right time) , there is always some
Sort of general mainennce work going on , for the most part , not a major issue for me , as for the most part , it's improvements but makes you wonder About the initial quality of workmanship / planning .
Affordability wise, yes there are choices of less costly apartments for rent but for the location and appointment is what your paying for which is fine, as long as location remains in good standing and is continuously maintained and safe .

East Beach is more than an apartment complex.

Moving from California all the way across the country to Virginia was definitely a HUGE change. The drive was extremely exhausting and LONG! 45 HOURS OF DRIVING LONG. (While pregnant) After arriving to Norfolk, VA the next challenge was finding a safe and friendly community to live in for the next year to birth and raise my baby on the way. After a very long search I found the East beach Marina community. The apartments are right on the water looking at the military base as well as Little Creek... Marina. A beautiful sunset view to watch after a long day, many fine dining restaurants walking distance, a pool to relax and look over the water, and even a tanning bed if that's your thing ;) We also have a cardio room as well as a weight room. All the neighbors in the apartments and neighborhood are extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a dog community as well, everyone is always out and about walking their dogs or out for a bike ride or run. We also have beach cruiser bikes you can rent for the day in our complex, just a part of your amenities. There is a farmers market every Saturday a few blocks from the apartment complex and a cute little sandwich shop right down the street, again walking distance. Our apartment community has a happy hour every Friday night and they LOVE to meet new people lol. I have never felt so safe in any community until now. The floor plans here are very spacious for couples with children or simply just by yourself. Plus the maintenance is always there to help when you need it. Oh, you get hooked up on Cox cable / internet, and if you have any questions, staff is there during the day to assist you. If you're from out of state like I was, this is the best possible community to live. Hope that helps!
