Thieves, Crackheads,Homeless,Security problems

Don't move here if you don't want your stuff stolen off your porch or attempt to break in by Homeless. There are constant prowlers looking for stuff to steal while you're sleeping through the night, I've caught it multiple times on Camera. Matter of fact just don't live on Casino rd at all if you can. The security gates work sometimes, but people can literally put their hand on it, and it will open. Also, the walk-through gate is not secured so anyone can walk right on in and take whatever they... want that's not locked up. First month here 4 bikes got stolen including mine and had an attempted to break in. The mailboxes were broken into as well. Cameras are just for show and don't work. They claim they are in process of installing them. I wish I felt safe here, but I constantly am looking behind my back, because it is dangerous here. I've heard people are dealing drugs from these apartments, and that they have squatters in the front units of the apartment, so be prepared if you move into one of those, for random homeless people trying to get inside. Only reason I gave 2 stars is because Maintenance, does there job very well and they actually care. The apartments are really pretty on the inside as well, just make sure you have protection. They will steal anything of value to sell for drugs..

SAFETY HAZARDS GALORE! HORRIBLE UPKEEP OF PROPERTY

I've lived here over two years, the front security gates have never worked, the property is not maintained. You will find loads and loads of dog poop everywhere! Maintenance is non-existent. When they do address a simple work order, the repair work is so shoddy and doesn't last. I've had my lazy-susan cabinet repaired three times now and it still isn't fixed. My living room heater thermostat has also been "repaired", it now has to be on the highest setting to get it to kick on, and then it... turns on and off constantly. Our carbon monoxide detector was over 7 years old and not working. I could go on and on with the issues here.

DO NOT RENT

This is my first apartment ever rented and it has been horrible from day one. We didn’t get to sign a lease until 3 months of living here. The first property manager was terrible and unorganized. The second one who started about 3 months ago, is a total liar, refused to give us access to the code for the gate. While we are still residents. She’s called the cops on a friend of ours for having a disagreement. The maintenance is terrible, we’ve waited for so long to get things in the apartment... fixed. The walls are paper thin, you can literally hear phones vibrating in the next apartment, and if you’re in the master, expect to hear a tv at some point with how the layout is. The parking is terrible, and you have a strong possibility of getting towed at some point with no warning. Oh and people can literally walk up to your patio as long as they aren’t on the actual concrete because it’s “a public area” oh and there is no gargage and half of the pictures posted are not for this apartment. Anything with the red doors is not here. So if you do rent... have fun hating your life.

Move here if you like maintenance issues.

As the other review stated, the lack of concern for maintenance issues is appalling. When we moved in the apartment was filthy and we had a long list of maintenance issues that needed to be attended to. 4 months later and they were finally all resolved, after several complaints. Then around Christmas the secured gate was apparently broken and left standing open for another 4 months before it was repaired, negating the secure feeling I had when first signing the lease. There was no communication... about the gate, why it was broken, or when we could expect it to be fixed. Throughout the year, I have submitted several maintenance requests as management directed, on the website. Every single request was ignored until I came to management with a complaint. We've also seen 3 different apartment managers in the single year I rented there. Legally, maintenance requests are supposed to be addressed within 72 hours if a major issue and 10 days if not. The quickest response I ever got was 2 weeks, and that was still with complaints submitted to management.

I was prepared to sign a new lease, except I had a minor maintenance issue related with my oven. I called management about it immediately and was told to submit online. 2 weeks later I complained to management. Less than a week before my lease expired someone finally showed up to look at the oven and learned that instead of a simple repair it would need to be replaced due to how long it stayed broken. It was insinuated that I would have to pay for the new oven, management would not communicate with me whether or not I would be expected to pay, and I decided that I would not go through another year of fighting for maintenance.

It appears that the apartment manager has no control over maintenance. Even though the apartment managers continue to say "submit maintenance requests online" it doesn't appear that maintenance looks at it or receives them ( a maintenance worker mentioned as much while fixing my dishwasher). Further, it seems that the maintenance department is severely understaffed.

In short, the units are beautiful. The courtyard is nice and mostly well maintained. It feels very secure with the gated entry, and my neighbors were friendly. But nothing is fixed on time. There is next to no communication from the apartment manager. And they do not care about your rights as a tenant. Document everything in triplicate. Know your tenant rights.
