Our experience

We have not experienced quiet enjoyment in our unit since we moved in July. The upstairs neighbors are constantly moving furniture and dropping items on the hard floors echoing loud banging noises that shake the walls and ceiling. We hear every movement as they stomp walk throughout the entire unit, especially when they wear dress shoes. The noise nuisance happens every single day and night easily past 10pm up until 2, 4, 5 a.m. We use a noise blocker maxed on volume, all doors closed, and the... TV volume up to block out all the noise. But even then, you can still hear the neighbors through it all. The leasing office failed us, they didnt work with us at all. They contacted the neighbors a handful of times and wouldn't allow us to move to another unit. We never heard from the property manager. How many "warnings" does a resident get? The after-hours patrol is a joke and non-existent. Our last resort is breaking our lease. We can deal with the back gate being broken 99.9% of the time, the piles of dog poop, the liter, residents speeding and running stop signs but I refuse to let this place rob me of my peace and quite with constant sleep disturbances, causing me stress and anxiety not being able to rest for 5 months.

I really liked living here

There are many great things about this complex. I liked opening the back gate and being right on the Highline Canal Trail. My building was very quiet; I never heard noise from my neighbors or from outside the building. I never saw people on the property who didn’t live here. I was always able to park near my building. The office staff was very friendly and always remembered my name and apartment number. I was able to use the computer in the office (when they were open) and they provided yummy... coffees and other drinks. The pool was very nice, and always full of happy, considerate families. You can walk to the light rail station called 2nd and Abilene, and it is quick to drive to access point for Hwy 225. Maintenance issues were quickly resolved. The only things I didn’t like was paying for the valet trash and the number of stairs to get to the fourth floor (which was my choice and kept me in great shape!). I highly recommend this apartment complex!

Awful

Do not recommend for ANYONE due to many reasons.
Security is by far the biggest joke other than customer service here. Since I have been here (13 months), there have been at least 6 cars stolen or broken into. Also, waking up to having coffee on your patio and seeing a pack of homeless people in the trash is a great way to start the day; this occurs almost a few times a week, if not daily. The north gate is always open between the hours of 5 A.M. until at least 10 A.M. - prime time for the...
homeless to come dig around. The customer service, or lack of, is absurd and the communication between staff members and the community members is horrid. Also, if you like parking within a walking distance of your building, good luck. Oh, and lastly, for anyone that is thinking of signing a lease soon, make sure they tell you about this “great” idea to pay $30 a month to have valet trash! Your entire hallway stinks and the best part is you pay for it!! Not to mention they only pick up trash when they feel like it (they have fri-sat off, but you would think it’s every other day). As much as I would like to point out the many flaws I left out, my thumbs hurt and I am tired. To anyone seeking a lease, you have been warned!

Best!

This place is amazing! It is by far the nicest place in the area and gated ? I’ve lived in my apartment for a year. The ladies in the office remembered my name and apartment number after meeting them one time and talk to me when I visit the office like I’m a friend and really make it a point to make me feel welcome. When I have packages delivered to the office, they see me drive up and if they aren’t assisting someone always meet me with my package and put it in my car. It’s just the little... things they don’t have to do that make it so nice here. Kristen is so helpful and always has a great attitude. She goes out of her way to make things easier for us. She does little things to make you walk out and just feel like you’re home. Erin, has that same great attitude. They just act like you’re one of their friends and want you to enjoy life here. I’ve lived in many places moving around with the military and I’ve never been in a better kept place with such wonderful staff taking care of us! I just can’t say enough about how amazing they are! Thanks for all you do!!

Overall Good

So I did a lot of research that brought me to Griffis. On paper, it gives the most space and options for the money. When we finally moved in, the one big drawback we had was that the bedrooms were not as big as we initially thought. Also, when we moved it, it seemed like the apartment was prepped by rushed hands. Doors stick because they were closed before the paint had time to drive. Paint flecks were on the floor. This though, it nit picking, because everything else is quite nice. Above and... beyond, the office staff is amazing. I never feel like a bother when I call or go into the office. Even when my cat got out, I received texts while I was at work about a cat that was found. I called the office, confirmed it was my furbaby and they happily got her back home. A great office staff like this is hard to find. The location isn't bad, and with the pending Light Rail station opening within a mile of the complex next year, it makes transportation options that much better. My kids love the pool and I feel comfortable with my kids here, with the gated community. I pay a pretty penny for the place, but I do get a fair bit out of it. So I'd definitely recommend the place as long as it fits in your budget.
