It wasn’t easy clawing his way to top 50% of his class, but it wasn't long before young Shane traded in cattle for Capitol Hill, arriving in Washington DC at the tender age of sixteen to serve as a page in the United States Senate. Having fallen in love with the power and prestige of America’s capital, he chose American University for his undergraduate degree, followed by an MBA from the University of Maryland. The political arena taught Shane how to win, an arena where he excelled so much that in 1998, he was the youngest statewide campaign manager in the nation. Running political campaigns was just one of the ways Shane learned to chart courses through turbulent waters, never losing a race he ran. Yet, it was leading a $100M international education company, with operations across five continents and 30 US states, that Shane really learned to steer the ship. This experience wasn’t just about leading a team of a thousands; it was about guiding people to their destinations through education and the literal crossing of geographical boundaries. And all this while maintaining his unique brand of humor, because, for Shane, a day without laughter is a day wasted. What do you do after conquering the worlds of politics and global education?
