Extensive Issues Overshadow Luxurious Facade at Windsor at Doral
Hello, I spent two years residing on the 5th floor of Windsor at Doral. While initially captivated by the community's aesthetic appeal, my tenure was marred by a series of preventable and frustrating issues that I believe prospective residents should be aware of.
Positives:
Lobby and Aesthetics: The lobby is the highlight with its inviting smell, elegant furniture, and luxurious marble floors, certainly deserving of high praise.
Negatives:
Noise Issues:
Airport Proximity: Living near Miami... International Airport meant dealing with noise from airplanes as early as 6:45 AM and as late as 11 PM. This was particularly troublesome for families like mine, with a young child, as the noise consistently disrupted sleep despite efforts to mitigate it by closing windows.
Security and Maintenance:
Theft Incident: My personal experience with theft—a box stolen from my garage spot—was ignored by management, which failed to respond to my complaint.
Elevator Reliability: The building's elevator system is inadequately managed. One elevator serves the left wing and the center, while two others serve the opposite side. The logistical challenge here is that one of these elevators is often reserved for moving, leaving just one operational for regular use. This setup frequently resulted in over 10-minute waits and complicated paths for simple tasks like receiving deliveries.
Parking Gate Failures: The parking gate malfunctioned bi-monthly, leaving the building vulnerable to unauthorized access.
Management and Customer Service:
Non-responsive Management: Issues such as prolonged marijuana smoking by a neighbor were met with ineffective responses from the management, who advised waiting for the tenants' leases to expire rather than addressing the problem.
Move-Out Charges: After vacating the apartment, which was left in impeccable condition, I was faced with large, unexplained charges, indicative of a severe lack of transparency and fairness in billing practices.
Privacy and Safety Issues:
Unsupervised Tours: The introduction of unsupervised, key-free tours for potential tenants has raised serious security concerns, as it allows unfamiliar individuals free access throughout the building.
Elevator Service Communication:
Inadequate Service Updates: Communications from Windsor management regarding elevator repairs were often delayed and vague, with promises of repairs by certain dates that were seldom met, leading to extended periods of inconvenience.
