Great staff and location

Great staff and location. The view to the lake is amazing. The biggest gym I have ever seen in an apartment complex, two floors and a racquetball court in the gym. Basketball and tennis court. The pool is amazing and constantly the staff is doing activities for the residents. Townhomes can seem a little price, but they include a garage, and the size is amazing. Cant complain, calm area, close to all the places I need to go.

Constantly needs maintainance and jacked up energy bills

It's true when they say people write reviews when they have a bad experience. I'm going to make it a habit to write reviews for places that give or don't give great experiences. I moved her about 3 months ago: my roommates and I have had many maintenance problems.

1. Our electric bill for a 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment, 1300 square ft has been costing us $250 plus a month. We have never ran our air during the months of September, October, and into November. We are conscious of the appliances....
Throughout the day, all 3 of us are usually working or at school. However, the office and maintenance have told us that these bills seem normal according to our living arrangement. I've lived in a 3 bedroom apartment before, all running on electric, but have never had a bill that high.

2. Termites: My roommate and I both discover termite exit holes within our walls. Office was informed. They sent a pest control specialist from Gold Seal to look at our wall. The guy that comes says it is termites, but needs to verify with a Gold Seal Termite specialist. He said he would inform the office; which he did. The Gold seal guy did not come until two/three days later. The Gold Seal guy came to our apartment later in the evening, confirming termites. He informed US that the entire building and our apartment needed to be treated. He would let the office know about the estimated costs. After a few days, I still didn't hear anything back from the office. Called the office about my water heater problem and also asked about termites. The office had no idea what the termite inspector had found because he never followed through with them. The office didn't take it upon themselves to follow through with us or Gold Seal. Still waiting to hear what will be done with this problem.

3. Flood: All within the same time frame, roommates toilet valve broke and flood the apartment. Maintenance guy did come to fix the valve and had someone dry up our carpets that day. However, we had to keep fans running for 36 hours; which jacked up our energy bill even more.

My advice, if you look into living here, make sure you ask the appropriate questions and looking into the place thoroughly. We made a mistake not doing this.

Outstanding apartments complex

I lived in this apartments complex four years, a very satisfying experience. The campus is extremely safe at all times, and break-ins are unheard of –the only IMPD car I saw belonged to one of the tenants. The apartments are bright and many are newly furnished, with brand new appliances and granite countertops.
The Leasing Office is extremely prompt and responsive in problem resolution. Those working in the Office are ready to help with any problem you may have –they receive your FedEx parcels...
or oversize Mail while you are out.
The landscape of the grounds is perfectly maintained year round and the freshly fallen snow is plowed immediately.
The rents are competitive and affordable. The Gym is opens early and closes late in the day, and the clean pool is a main attraction in the season. There is a mile long jogging path around the lake, very popular for running or walking your dog. Monthly, there are residents group events at area restaurants or bars, which create a sense of community.
The location of the Complex is off 86th/82nd Ave which is full of shopping opportunities and places to eat out, and is also conveniently situated off I-465.
I recommend this apartments complex ahead of any other place on the North Side.

Robberies and unaccommodating

After just one month of living at River Crossing, my plumbing system totally failed. My toilet would clog, overflow, etc. all the time. I called a plumber to come take a look who basically said that this was a long time coming and all of the parts were outdated. I told the complex this and they refused to pay for any of the new parts or the service fees that I paid the plumber.

After I moved out, I realized that I had forgotten to empty out my kitchenware from the dish washer. I called the...
property and asked if they could please have an employee go in the apartment and remove the items and send them to me along with the postage fees which I would repay, to which they replied "we are not set up to do that kind of thing". So I had to buy all new kitchenware.

Additionally, there are no cameras or security at the apartment making it a thief's dream apartment complex. I received countless emails reminding me to lock my car at night due to the reoccurring robberies.
