Great Property but old

The Management company who run this property does a good job with up keep. Decent neighborhood, safe complex. But everything is inside is old and outdated. The pictures you see are only 4 units of the whole property. You'll never get one. They only have ones with the extra small kitchens and bathroom. The closets are this funny set up. Great Property for management and upkeep. But don't expect any updates as they charge you more money every year.

Comfortable

So I moved here in Dec of 2020 . I actually found this complex through this website lol I had an in person tour which was self led due to COVID restrictions. The apt is snug but not too small . The bathroom was updated & the kitchen is decent with dark wood cabinetry. The wall aren’t as thick as I’d like them to be be but nevertheless my neighbors are kind and pleasant. Also any maintenance issue I’ve had , though not many, has been handled swiftly & professionally. The only thing I will say is... there are some nosy folk over here lol other Than that , I really enjoy this apartment complex! Check it out for yourself & see .

Poor property, nothing like the pictures

If Colonial Square apartments had the last apartment on this earth, I would live in a tent. A tent would have better living conditions than this place. I lived here over 2 years. they automatically renewed my lease. Ever heard of that? This place does that! You need to provide 2 months notice prior to the lease expiring or they make you stay! We had no pets, paid a security deposit. After we moved They claiming we owe damages to the apartment. Not accurate. Need less to say, I agree with the... other tenants about the front office management being very unprofessional and unreasonable. This place is definitely not worth the trouble. Run ...don’t walk away from this place.

Property Manager at Colonial Square Apartments responded to this review

5/6/20 Proposed Response: Dear Two-Year Resident, We appreciate your comment and regret you were not pleased with your experience. Each resident receives two separate notices before the year’s lease ends, allowing opportunities to cancel or renew.... Also, the residential rental agreement each leaseholder signs provides information about lease renewal, as well as payment required for damages. Our dedicated and professional management team is on-site to speak via phone or email to listen to compliments or criticism and to provide positive feedback. Our goal is to provide our residents with the respect and quality service they deserve. Please reach out to your manager for any further questions for her to assist you directly.

Amanda

This place is terrible.I paid to get out of the lease because of how terrible living here was! 1st issue was the people above me. They kept putting things down the garbage disposal that would clog up the line and cause FOOD back-up in my tub! My neighbors got into a bloody fistfight that left blood splatters on my and their doors. After complaining the management did not seem to care and the blood stayed there for 2 weeks. The tenants above me had multiple leaks that they did not report which... resulted in water damage of my apartment. The maintenance staff kept telling me they’d “fix it tomorrow” after almost 2 weeks they sent someone who fixed it in 30min.... why did it take 2 weeks if it was an easy fix. I had a hole in my ceiling and wet carpet propped up with nails exposed in my main hallway! This place is a joke. It is dirty and the management sucks. Try Arbutus. Much nicer area for a similar price.

Not worth the trouble

My fiance and I just left this place. If you were smart you would live here as a last resort. We have never missed a rent payment nor have we have ever been late. My fiance lived here for a period of 24 months and I moved in the last year. We have 2 dogs and paid 2 security deposits plus a $35 pet fee. After we moved out they are claiming we owe damages to the apartment but didn't apply the funds paid previously to the account. On top of all of this the front office management is very... unprofessional and unreasonable. Maintenance is the worst in all of my years of renting an apartment. The community is nice but the office staff and maintenance people are not worth the trouble. Trust me.
