Do Not Live Here

Seems as though Broder & Sachse is too busy building new complexes to care about The Scott. What was once an exceptional experience, completely turned to the exact opposite of "luxury living" there. I lived there for 15-months and the decline of cleanliness, common courtesy, safety, and overall functionality and accessibility of amenities were a prominent issue.

Not to mention my move-out day (this past Saturday) was completely forgotten about. I scheduled it and of course confirmed for a...
10:00am move-out. There are two elevators - one was broken this day and the one they were supposed to lock down for me was not locked and NO EMPLOYEE WAS THERE per usual so my movers took ten times as long to move me out (I was being charged hourly). There was no one to be found to help me.

I called the emergency line (they never answer it) and I emailed the Assistant Property Manager at Broder & Sachse Real Estate and copied two of the Leasing Consultants that day urgently (and a few times) and they STILL have not responded to even just simply apologize (it's Wednesday now and I'm sure they've seen it in the past five days). They blatantly ignored me. My movers were waiting for several minutes each time they had to take something to the truck. It's like they especially didn't care about me because I was moving out instead of in.

This place is a mess. There is basically no security and they took away the 24/7 concierge at the front door so anyone can just walk in most of the time. Also took away the free coffee. There is always something broken (specifically the pool). The only reason I gave it one star at all is because of the community aspect. I met a lot of great people here and they threw a lot of events for us.

ALSO the walls are so paper thin here that the whole building hears EVERYTHING. I lost so much sleep here. I heard my neighbors cough or sneeze and their full phone conversations all the time. Not to mention the neighbor that lives above me - I even heard footsteps vividly.

If you want to be ignored as a resident when you pay for an overpriced apartment then The Scott is the place for you.

Non-existent staff, broken amenities, unexceptional experience!

The Scott used to live up to all it claimed to be and used to be a fantastic place to live. At the start of 2021, management laid off nearly the entire staff and left only a few employees who’s only job are to sign new leases. We haven’t seen a single maintenance person since 12/2020 and the amenities are trashed. Both grills have not worked in 6 months, 5 out of the 6 treadmills in the gym have not worked for the past 4 months, and the hot tub works about half the time. We have a bug/centipede... issue in our apartment due to a construction defect and management continues to ignore us. Broder & Sachse has completely abandoned this place to focus on their new projects. Save yourself a lot of money and even more headache, don't subject yourself to living here.

Looks can be Deceiving

The apartments and the facilities are all really nice looking, but unfortunately, not the greatest quality (pretty cheap flooring, plumbing issues, appliances). With the pandemic, many of the amenities were also unavailable for the majority of my 10 months here thus far, which is totally understandable. However, when things started to open up many of the amenities were taken away without warning, and without a refund (now you need to pay for the once free coffee, and NO CONCIERGE service), the... pool/hot tub rarely cleaned, and gym was not being monitored at all to maintain physical distance/covid-19 standards(supposed to be 2 people at a time with masks on, and that's clearly not happening). Without a concierge, you cannot guarantee someone is there to receive packages or groceries, or help when you have noisy neighbors at 1 am (which sadly happens ALL THE TIME despite a Global Pandemic). The majority of the residents here seem to be in college or recent grads, and don't take the pandemic seriously nor have any respect for their neighbors. The walls are paper thin, and the bedroom doors are sliding barn doors which don't shut or lock (not sure how that works for roommates, its fine for couples using second bedroom as a guestroom/office). If you have the money, and want to re-live your glory Frat days, than this place is for you. Ultimately, great location, love the covered parking, For the Love of Sugar and Grey Ghost nearby, but not worth the cost. Also, the garbage trash chutes are disgusting and always overflowing. Pro tip: Do not get an apartment near the stairwells or trash chutes, and advise against a unit over looking the pool in less you are really into partying.

BUY EAR PLUGS!

The only thing that should be known about this place is the awful sound proofing. Nothing else really matters. It's comically bad. They literally did not put any money or thought into the sound proofing. HORRID.
