Renters Beware.
It has taken me a while to write this, for more than a month I was too mad with my experience at Spring Brook. First thing, make sure you see the actual unit you are getting. I cannot emphasize this enough. For what you are going to pay don't get hoodwinked. I understand the practice of showing model units but the quality drop off from what we were shown to what we received was dramatic. We ended up in a unit that hadn't been updated in over 20 years. The previous tenents had been long time... residents with cats and they flipped the property in less than a week. Not near enough time to properly clean after cats or update anything to being close to the model shown. But what do you do? You have all your stuff and your "new" place you move in disappointed with the serious quality down grade. Unaware something more insidious is hiding under the carpet. The uncleaned smell of cat urine. We didn't notice when we moved in because new carpet had been installed. But our cats did. It made them crazy. They behaved in ways they never have before or after we moved out. They marked outside the litter box, became aggressive with us, and wouldn't leave the upstairs closet alone. After a few weeks we lifted the carpet in that closet to find where we assume the old litter box was because the corner was caked and stained with crusty old litter and pee. They made zero effort to clean up old cat urine smell before quick flipping it to people with cats moving in. It was a nightmare for 12 months. Then when we moved out they charged us 800 dollars to replace the carpet. I'm sure they didn't do anything to remove the proteins that will drive any future cats insane. Be very careful to make sure you see what you are actually getting before you sign anything or give this place a dime of your money or you'll find out that you really moved into Shady Crook Appartments. Renters Beware.
