To preface, it’s a high cost of living area and this location is one of the more affordable. It’s so far been a very mixed bag. It took over three weeks for them to piece-meal their way through our application. Randomly each day being asked for information not previously asked for or information already given in the application. Upon receiving our move in letter I was alerted it was incorrect only because I called to confirm as we lived out of town. Differences were to be resolved on our end.... The dog wash and pool were not opened due to a renovation and an issue with inspections. None of this was disclosed before move-in. Upon move-in there were holes in the screen door which did not fit and multiple outlets did not work. There has been no resolution within several weeks. Water hookups were done incorrectly with hot and cold hoses being backwards on half of the sources, one of which is the tub that they wouldn’t have done anyway. The dog yard is nice, the gym is fine, and the pickleball court is a nice plus. The location is great for reaching anywhere you need to go. Management is unresponsive to issues. It is fine, but nothing beyond that.

Overall great! Highly recommend!

I’ve been living at the Hamptons of Cloverlane almost 3 yrs. overall experience has been great! Staff are courteous, parking is decent, safe, quiet and convenient location, and maintenance is good (especially Leo from the Pines our sister property and Michelle the new manager) they’ve been awesome! Would definitely recommend!

Do not live here

No heat, no AC, and extremely poor management.
We had problems with this place before we even moved in. Our move in date kept getting pushed back due to renovations. We kept getting told "1 more week" until a month went by and we had to contact management to get a straight answer. Then we move in, and 1 bathroom doesn't have a vanity attached yet. Had to wait another month for that. Then 1 bedroom doesn't have functioning AC. After multiple requests, and claims that "they had fixed the problem",...
I had my Dad call the manager and they then put a plug in AC unit in to fix it. Now it's winter and the vents still don't work so 1 bedroom gets NO HEAT. It is FREEZING bc it's Michigan. Also put in multiple requests, still not fixed and every time I call the manager she's either not there or has "left early". Oh and nothing stays plugged in to most of the outlets.
Save your money and live somewhere else.

Literally, the worst

STAY AWAY!! Even if they give you a tour of the 'model unit', do not fall for it. The actual units look nothing like the model unit. We were told we would be getting a newly renovated apartment with new hardwood floors, new appliances, and new carpet in the bedrooms. The day we moved in (in May), we discovered our apartment was renovated about 10 years ago, with cabinets covered in major wear and water damage, outdated/warped/paint stained floors in the kitchen, stained carpet in every room... except for the kitchen, and outdated appliances (minus the microwave, since one wasn't even provided). Plus, every single door in the apartment sticks shut with built-up layers of paint. We were also surprised that we needed to buy our own light fixtures for every single room except for the kitchen and bathrooms. The air conditioning is old and so incredibly loud that we can't have it on at night because it keeps us awake. I wish I could post pictures on here since I took so many to document everything on move-in day.

Management is just as bad. It's impossible to get into contact with them. I've followed up on all of my emails several times but have not received a response since move-in day. The leasing team seems super down-to-Earth and outgoing when you are scoping out the place, but once you move in, they magically disappear.

Do not believe the higher rated reviews on this site. One of them is obviously the leasing office. I mean seriously, what kind of tenant lists the exact hours of maintenance? Not a real one...

Poor Management

The Hamptons of Cloverlane - Hayman Company, are one of the worst companies to ever rent an apartment from. On two separate occasions, under two separate apartments, they have taken advantage of their tenants in order to pay for upgrades that were not necessary after their previous tenants vacated. They use untrustworthy cleaning companies and their ill trained maintenance staff to claim damage that never existed and to form excuses to lay severe costs on their old tenants. When confronted with... this, the simple excuse is "your concerns have not gone unheard" and then a dismissal. If we had not vacated rent would have been raised by an extreme and unnecessary rate of 20 percent. While residing at the Hamptons of Cloverlane our hot water tank continued to breakdown and we would go without hot water frequently for over 24 hours. On several other occasions my partner had to fix other appliances the maintenance staff were unable to fix. Without notice we suddenly lost over 50 percent of our parking and were told we had to pay for it - this is one of three spots throughout the complex with a shortage of parking (not enough spots for current tenants to park in close proximity) and that was before we were told we now had to pay for it. Management is uncaring, unresponsive, and unprofessional. The changeover of office staff is high and messages are not forwarded on. It was severely disappointing and I highly recommend seeking living arrangements elsewhere.
