Cutesy area!

The staff is nice - love that, basically got a nice old version of the apartments so it's a little quirky but that staff helps with that as well

Too much incompetence

Property managers are ok, however most issues are clearly out their control with blame typically lying on hgliving management group. Also, apartment is pretty dated and support services like maintenance barely do their jobs right.

Poor Communication--No follow-up

I've lived at Nova for just under 2 years, and didn't really have any issues until about a month ago. But trying to deal with that has shown the incompetency of both the management, Matt, and maintenance staff on both a communication and actual ability to fix things. If you need a 1 time fix for an issue, it should be fine--but anything that requires communication? Forget it.

Tldr for below: AC issue for over 2 weeks in the heat of the summer with no communication on fixes and still no...
solution.

Over 2 weeks ago I noticed my AC wasn't cooling very well, so I filed a request to have it looked at. The request was completed the next day--only known to my by a text asking me to rate the service 1-10, no actual information on what was done. About 12 hours later the problem was back so I filed another request. The following day a pair of maintenance guys came over and pulled out an air filter that looked like it hadn't been changed since I moved in and said that had caused the unit to freeze (which I onyl knew cause I was home and asked them specifically). They let it thaw, dried it out, and turned it back on. I left in the afternoon and got back ~4 hours later to an 86deg apartment and had to call the emergency line to get a window unit (for only that night) and file ANOTHER request because they had closed the second one. No one bothers to come back and check the work. To spare the length of the story I will say that I have continued to deal with this for a week being told anything from a new unit will be installed to a freon leak to another air filter change--all of these conversations though have been me calling or stopping into the leasing office. Not once has someone reached out to me to tell me the work that has been done/or the issues they continue to have. Mind you it's been over 85+ degrees outside every single day this has been broken for. So I've bought box fans and had to lock up my cat every day IN CASE someone comes.

New Owners - Great Manager

I've lived at Nova for about 10 years now - and we've had different property owners. I'm so thankful for Matt and Sara, our managers, who are both so thoughtful and responsive and informative. The apartments have a surprising amount of space and the neighborhood is conveniently located and quiet. A great place for professional workers who need easy access to Chapel Hill and I-40.

Nothing like the pictures

I don’t know how they made this place look so good in the pictures… I should’ve known it was too good to be true for the price.

I will say, I did not go inside any units. I had scheduled a tour online but they apparently forgot to block off the calendar and had a sign on the door that they were closed for the day when I got there.
