High deposit and horrible insulation! Do not move here!!
Not only do they charge a deposit but will also charge a NON refundable $500 deposit on top of that based upon the lowest credit score possible. Since we just moved to the area and did not have the luxury of looking very long, we applied thinking our credit was good enough not to have the extra charge. We put $100 down to hold the apartment which we would have lost if we didn't accept the extra charge for a ridiculously low credit score that came from nowhere since we keep track of ours. But... again, no time or an extra $100 to lose, so signed since it seemed a nice apartment.
Little did we know but the insulation between floors is NON existent! We asked who lives above and was assured a quiet older lady lived above. We have kids and would not move to a top floor out of respect for our neighbors. Well, the so called "quiet" older lady walks around day and night since she is obviously retired and likes to walk around in heels like a drunk monkey at ALL hours of the day and night...sometimes at 3 and 4 in the morning. And it is not only a single lady. There are two or three others up there and a dog whom it sounds like they play ball with inside as well. Been here over a month and have NOT had a good night's sleep since. The kids stare at the ceiling with a worried look on their faces; likely thinking the ceiling is going to cave in. Granted, it's been a while since living in an apartment but I KNOW I have never dealt with this level of noise!! Obviously this place is poorly built and it makes you worry about the possibility of a fire breaking out and just tearing it's way through an uninsulated building.
We are not the only ones in the complex complaining either. The turn-over is high. There are people constantly moving out and I wish I would have talked to another tenant before moving in here.
So be warned. You will be miserable. Whether up or downstairs. Horrible noise from above or neighbors complaining below. Not sure which is worse or less stressful. If we had the money to move, we would. Now just saving up to get out when the lease is up.
Again...find a better place and talk to other tenants before moving in. It is expensive, time consuming and back breaking to move in and out. Not something I'd ever recommend.
