Not what I expected

I have lived at Christopher wren for 2 years and this is my entire review.. when I first moved in it was not owned by Morgan properties.. the complex was clean well cared for.. still issues with the apartments tho.. the windows are superrrr thin.. my electric bill In the winter (electric heat) at 67 was still over 400 dollars a month. You can feel the cold as you walk by them.. most collect moisture also. Then the doors aren’t sealed either so make sure you have something to put in front of your... doors to help keep the cold out. Then let’s talk about how thin the walls are.. super great trifecta I have a 2 bedroom town house.. high ceilings are nice but pay attention to the ceiling fan.. it’s never cleaned.. you can’t clean it because it’s wayyyyy to high. And when you ask for someone to come clean it the poor maintenance staff cannot get up there either.. so it looks so gross. my washer overflowed in my places and I needed my carpets replaced.. I could have a done a better job installing them. When I vacuum it just pulls it right up. Since the take over outside has also now not been maintained. They cut the budget on snow removal i guess and counted on poor maintenance to do the snow removal. The leaves have not been cleaned up and thanks to the woods near by… If you have a pet make sure you are constantly checking them for tics. Then let’s talk about the garbage situation that they can’t seem to get under control but yet only offer recycling of “cardboard only” so if you do choose to recycle it’s on you.

Thin Walls

My apartment shakes from my neighbor’s tv. Can hear my other neighbor’s music, laughter, etc. Essentially, I’ve acquired a free roommate.
The apartments aren’t luxury, they’re okay. The grounds are well kept and clean.
Management and maintenance is very responsive. Just if you are looking for a quiet apartment, this isn’t it.

Pros and Cons

My roommate and I lived at Christopher Wren for over a year and had both good and bad experiences.

Pros
-The office and maintenance staffs were friendly and get to know both residents and their pets.
-The small dog park is nice and the grounds with sidewalks are good for walking/running.
-Being in the heart of Wexford is amazing. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and 19 and 79 are incredibly close.
-Maintenance is quick to respond. I once had a response within half an...
hour!
-Except for one particular neighbor (see below) and a couple domestic fights, the neighbors were very quiet.

Cons
-Since the third month of our lease, our unit had moisture issues (the windows are single pane). The windows would fog up and water would run down them onto the plank flooring. No solution to this issue was ever found, but we were given several options that simply increased our spending on the apartment. At one point, my roommate found a mold spot on the wall behind her bed.
-For nearly half the time of our lease, we had a neighbor who played music well into quiet hours (10pm to 10am). This was never resolved either, despite back and forth e-mailing with the office and calling the police twice.
-Another neighbor violated their lease by smoking in their apartment. The smell was detectable in the breezeway, our laundry room, and the master bathroom.
-The walls are fairly thin and a snoring neighbor could be heard through the master bedroom wall when everything else was quiet.
-The maintenance crew came into our apartment with their shoes on and no shoe coverings.

Thank you for review on your time living here at Christopher Wren. We enjoyed having you part of the Christopher Wren Community. I will follow up with maintenance in regard to some of the “cons” you addressed in this review to make sure moving... forward they are properly taken care of for the current and future residents. While we would love to be here 24/7 to take care of all residents concerns and issues with noise complaints this is just something we are unable to do and we advise residents to call Northern Regional Police to make a non-emergency complaints for any domestic disturbances or noise complaints. Once again thank you so much for taking the time to review our community. Your honesty helps us better our customer service skills for our current and future residents!

A happy, safe, and comfortable place to live

The property and management at Christopher Wren is above and beyond INCREDIBLE! My wife and I moved in on short notice, and the team was so helpful and supportive, providing quick and helpful responses to our questions. The apartment was exactly as advertised, and it looked brand new, clean, and spacious. Whenever we needed maintenance help, the crew responded so quickly. The fellow residents here are very quiet, respectful, and friendly.

Honestly, there's no such thing as a "perfect" place to...
live... but this property comes pretty close.

Poor Management

I moved into the apartment and initially loved it. I was told on my tour that electricity would be $40/month. After moving in, I found out after talking to the electric company that the apartment had never had an electric bill less than $90 dollars and in winter months electric would be $200-250/month (all my neighbors had a similar complaint). There was water damage in October and March, which although fixed quickly, was very annoying as rent was not cheap. In July, there was another leak while... I was on vacation leading to permanent damage. Manager refused to pay for any of the items damaged by water (despite her staff emailing me saying they would reimburse me) and wanted me to pay rent for 30 days. I was told again it was fixed, but the next time it rained, it caused more damage. Apartment manager was rude and never responded quickly. Contractor reimbursed 75% of my stuff, but the apartment complex took zero accountability for water damage and acted like they were doing me a favor by letting me break my lease. Would never recommend this apartment. Contractor and Maintenance were nice, but apartment management was terrible. After hiring an attorney and having her look at lease, they finally agreed to let me terminate lease without paying for 30 days. I paid for an entire months rent when I spent zero days there because of water damage.
