UNSAFE AREA

In the year that I lived here my car was broken into twice in a span of two months. Broken windows and everything swiped from the car. I spoke with multiple residents who also had car break ins - they happen here EXTREMELY often. The gates and pedestrian doors are constantly broken, stopping no one from entering the parking lot. I informed management after every break in I had, and they didn't lift a finger. They essentially said the management company is too big to do anything proactive about... it. They gave me some long speech about why it takes them so long to repair the gates and doors - not the resident's problem. Their excuse for why they hadn't sent a community notice alerting other residents about the break ins, was because people complain about them sending too many emails, HA. I never saw one email regarding the break ins, and I'd think residents would want to know so they don't leave anything of value in their cars. Due to all the car windows being smashed, the parking lot is covered in glass making it dangerous for kids and dogs. The safety of their residents should be a top concern, but it's not. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Beautiful Property, Sub-par management

Bexley Soco offers a beautiful pool and spacious floor plans. The maintenance staff is excellent, prompt, and friendly. Unfortunately, the management office can be unhelpful and provides the bare minimum of customer service for tenants who pay a premium to stay at this property. "Controlled building access" is labeled as an amenity, however for the majority of our time renting here, the gates did not work. This also included the vehicle entry gate, which was stuck in the open position for... several weeks. During this time, an attempt to steal my vehicle occurred at 4am (a time when a working gate could have helped). Many others have experienced theft here as well. Pedestrian access gates often do not work as well, creating an unsafe situation given the surrounding area (per Austin Police) during my police report following a vandalism incident. Lastly, management was not helpful during my move out charges and incorrectly attempted to bill me a few extra thousand $$, resulting in a personal audit of the many charges you will experience here. Lastly, one of our bedrooms shared a wall with an exterior pedestrian gate, making this room completely unusable due to the loud slamming of this metal gate at all hours of the night. Bottom line, you expect more when paying the premium charged here.

Do NOT move here!

I have lived in this complex for some months now. When I initially toured my unit I fell in love with it and couldn't believe I had found such a great place. Unfortunately, there is a big noise issue. If you are not on the top floor you will hear every single step the person above you takes; the vents in your ceiling will rattle loud enough to wake you up from a deep sleep and keep you awake for certain. I have not had a full night of rest in months and have contacted the office multiple times... only to be told, in short, to get over it. The constant banging is such a bad problem that it scares my pet, who has now made a room for themselves in the closet as it seems to be the quietest part of the apartment. Aside from the constant noise, the parking situation here is not great either. Most of the parking spots are far too small. I drive a very small vehicle and was still hit by another car that was backing out of their spot, and if you drive a larger vehicle you better hope to find one of the few larger parking spots or you will need to squeeze yourself into a compact spot and hope for the best. The apartments do offer a solution to this problem, as you can get a reserved spot in the garage... for an extra $100 a month, this is on top of your already high rent; and if you are worried about your vehicle being broken into, don't, because the complex is gated... however, the gates seem to be broken every other week, thus being left permanently open until someone can come to repair it only for it to be broken again a week later. Aside from this, if you are willing to pay the extra $100/month fee for a reserved spot in the garage to avoid having your vehicle being hit or broken into, you will be thrilled to hear that the garage door is also constantly left open so that anyone who makes it onto the property from the broken main gate can now easily walk into the garage as well. With this being said, this apartment complex is a great choice for anyone who hates sleeping or any kind of peace and quiet in general, as well as anyone who loves to have their vehicle damaged or even broken into.
