A Fine Apartment with Thin Walls
Some people really like it here and it's in a nice location, but it definitely wasn't the place for me.
Pros:
-Close-ish to downtown
-Great maintenance staff
Cons:
-Super thing walls. If your next door/upstairs neighbors talk at a normal volume, you can fully understand their conversations
-Entrance/exit is a nightmare. You need to wait at a light to leave the apartment and many residents exit through the entrance to avoid the light making it dangerous to get in at times
-Mosquitoes in the... laundry. The laundry door is never closed so mosquitoes nest in the washing machines so you get bitten and/or end up with dead mosquitoes in your clean clothes. These were also broken for months before management got new ones
-Expensive for what you get. Nearby apartments in Hyde Park are at least as nice in a better location for similar prices.
-Amenities aren't great. The gym is basically three cardio machines and like 10 or so dumbbells and 5 or so kettlebells with no bench. If you want to run/elliptical inside then you're good, but don't expect this to replace a gym membership by any stretch. The pool was always cloudy while I was there. Might just be bad timing, but it seemed gross to me
Random Notes:
-Any review complaining about danger might be outdated or unreasonable. I've never felt unsafe here or in the neighborhood and never heard about theft or break-ins
-Many of the reviews come from early 2019 when management changed so there were certain incentives for residents to leave reviews. They aren't necessarily dishonest, but I would take them with a grain of salt
