Owners don't tell you ....
We are just finishing our 1 year lease and looking forward to leaving. The owners could have done better at taking accountability for major up keeps of the units. Our 1st electric bill was over $700. I've never paid over $100, yet alone $700?? I had EP Electric come investigate & they gave me suggestions of what the issue might be, so I submitted a maintenance ticket to have the AC unit checked out as we were struggling to get the apartment to cool down... the technician noticed the problem and... fixed it. I then requested the owner be responsible for paying the electric bill as we had just moved in and naturally assumed everything in the unit was going to work. The owner declined to pay it. Not even half as they claim they have no way of knowing any issues unless a maintenance ticket is submitted. I can only imagine what the previous tenant was paying for electricity. One of our neighbors told us their water bill was $400 1 month, and when they looked into it, they learned the property owners have their sprinkler system hooked up to the tenets water faucet. When they requested to be reimbursed, the owner's declined. We have a handful of reasons why we don't recommend anyone live here, but these 2 were at the top of the list. I feel bad for the new tenants after us. In short, the owners are money hungry.
