The negative is impressive
The building used to be well-managed, and the tenants were family to each other. But now, a lot of the tenants are weirdos and it's driven all the good people out. The newest management company never introduced themselves, abrasively inserted themselves, changed how we pay, giving us fewer options, and those rarely work. The thin walls are one of the worst things you'd not expect from "luxury" living. You can lay in your bed and hear every word the guy is saying in his bed in the next apartment.... And if you get a stomper on the floor above you, or someone who wears heels on the wood floors, your ears will actually be pained. A 12-month lease of noise and pain. Every other apartment has a weed smoker in it, and that's a real nice smell as you walk in the door. We used to have key fobs to get in, but now everyone just has a code and gives it to their friends and pizza delivery drivers. Now management wants to charge us washer and dryer fees, anything they can do to make themselves look good to the owners is what they will do so that the owners will sign with them another year. We're getting our 6th office manager, in as many months. The building is filthy. They did have a nice lady that lived here cleaning it, but someone said they'd rather pay a crew more money to do an awful job, because it looks more professional to have a crew here. They care about how things look to others, not how things look to people that live here. This is one of the few properties that has a capable maintenance man, but they refuse to hire him a helper, so he has to put himself at risk performing 2 or 3-man jobs by himself. It could all be too much, but instead, it's not enough. The property is on a water treatment facility, as you can see by the signs in the parking lot. When it rains the sewage smells in the building are bad and the parking lot is horrid all summer long. The heat and ac have been working the last few months, pretty thankful for that.
