Unsanitary conditions

Camelot is a lovely apartment complex, other than the E building. Walking in the front door, you are welcomed with the entrance marked with excrement and what appears to be a large area of burnt carpet. Proceeding down the stairwell, there are puddles of urine that have been soaking into the cement for weeks now. It's unfortunate. It's becoming not only unsightly but also unsanitary.

Best renewal offer for Camelot included a 16.8% increase in monthly amount.

I have been a tenant for a number of years at the Camelot apartment complex. My recent renewal for a 12 month period was an increase of 16.8% per month. I have endured the past increases of 9-10% but am wondering if there are any limits to what amount they expect tenant's to pay? The property has become a haven for homeless people and the outside parking is not sufficient for the amount of tenants who chose not to pay the $50.00 parking fee per month. The W/S/G charges which are billed... according to how many people are in the unit (not by usage)amounts have also increased. The pool is supposed to be heated but seems like it it not and has limited usage hours. The gym equipment is old and often broken down. They did paint the building so if looks nice but stairways, hallways and garages are often filthy.

Why don't I move? Because I cannot afford to move at this time and moving can be a real hassle. Do you think the prices are based on the fact people do not like moving? I believe this is a BIG PART of the Camelot leasing plan of trapping tenants and increasing rates unreasonably. If I knew what I know now this would not have been the place for me to move into.

8 years of great experience

Living here feels like home. Maintenance service is always fast and helpful. Never had a problem with our wonderful manager Colin. Secure entrance, elevator, free parking garage for 1 car, indoor pool, lots of parking space outside, koridor halls with carpet save you money on heat coast and stop unwanted debris way before you enter your home. Management really cares about property, itake kept well. Our building is about 9-10 y.o. Now it's under big re-facing, roof changing and yards renew. The... only thing I would complain -our kitchen is so little, smallest of I ever seen.

Leave your high standards behind and move to Camelot.

In mid-July 2015, I went to an Epic Assets - Camelot Apartments to consider a rental. I informed the staff that I had two pets and was given a quote whereby it was stated and crossed off the quote that there would not be a pet deposit. I thought had found a fair price for an Everett apartment, especially since the unit was still having construction done and workers were constantly entering the unit. I was told that there would be a possible $999 security deposits. I did not expect to pay this... amount since there should be no negative marks on my rental history. However, the extra security deposit was added and I accepted it.

7/19/15, I submitted a rental application listing my two pets and paying $43 in application fees and $350 for administrative fees.

45 days after I moved in, I received a notice that I needed to pay $400.45 for a pet deposit or face eviction. I contacted the office and their staff told me that they were reviewing their files and suddenly realized that not only do I have pets, they did sneak in a pet deposit on the lease. I had completed the lease online in the leasing office and did not demand a copy.

I have paid more in move-in costs to Epic Assets than I have paid to any rental company at nearly $1,400 prior to the $400 extortion raising move in costs to $1,792. Since tenants have no recourse to deal with shady landlords in Washington, I fully expect not to see any of my security deposits back. I have lived in many rental units and this is the most that I have ever had to pay in move fees/deposits. Clearly, a costly mistake dealing once again with devious leasing agents. I cannot recommend an apartment complex where leasing agents lie/omit fee, place it in the online lease, and the assistant property manager states read the lease when a tenant complains. Epic Assets has a D- on the BBB website; I should have started here.

In addition, the staff are too sorry to notify residents when packages are delivered complaining that the apartment complex is too big and it takes them away from not working. I have lived in larger complexes, which have the decency to text or note a resident of package arrival. Clearly, a trained monkey would be more useful in this leasing office.

Camelot Apartments, Everett WA

I've lived here 3 years and am happy to call it home. Clean and comfortable atmosphere all around, plus I don't hear my neighbors through the walls. Friendly office and maintenance staff are always quick to assist and resolve any issues. And who wouldn't appreciate an indoor swimming pool in the pacific northwest?
