Ellis Midtown Apartments

I moved in a month ago and have called either the non emergency line for Phoenix police or the landlord every other day. My apartment is infested with roaches since the day I moved in. In the first hour I got the keys I saw roaches inside of the bedroom. My upstairs neighbors are extremely unclean and their patio is full of clutter and trash. Additionally, I have seen at least 30 transients walk into their unit throughout the day and leave in the morning with sleeping bags and their gear. ... Besides sounding like a construction zone when I am sleeping, during normal hours there are people yelling and fighting. I go to work exhausted from getting no sleep due to all of the issues. The landlord has had my unit sprayed twice which did nothing and when they said they were going to do a larger than 2 min spray on my unit they never showed up. Additionally, items are thrown from the unit upstairs balcony into my patio which creates a physical hazard to my pet and I as well as my property. I have told my landlord about how unsafe these conditions are and they said they could not do anything. No security or anyone to contact after business hours. A shady experience in our opinion. We were shown several apartments in various states from decent to totally defaced and in disrepair. We chose our unit, paid our $50 background and $200 deposit to hold the apartment. 10 days later we were informed that our "unit" needed more time to prepare and our move-in date was delayed. Then, the leasing office informed us our unit number was changed from our original choice to, you guessed it, the unit that was a complete disaster. Classic bait and switch.... Imagine our surprise (not really) when, upon declining to move forward and sign a lease, we were informed our deposit was non-refundable. Despite back and forth emails it appears we can kiss our $200 goodbye. We definitely do not recommend as we feel totally deceived. Proceed with caution! Read More

I have had a pleasant experience since moving here it has been a nice and easy transotion thus far. The nieghbors are pretty quiet for the most part and friendly I recently had delivery here which nobody touched and that says a lot in my book. Also,the staff has been helpful in anything I may need around here. If I had any complaint its that im never home to enjoy the place due to work.??

Live in this apartment about 1 year. The studio has good space. What I like most is that when you have a problem they solve it very fast and well let 's say A / C, Pest control, etc. The excellent manager as well as all the employees. We miss.

Maintenance slow Electrically never updated, be ready to use several outlet multiplying surge protectors. NO GFI's in any of the kitchens or bathrooms..Drains for plumbing, have to managed as delicately as a person waiting on the list waiting for a heart transplant What were 2 inch drainpipes now have very narrow openings 3/4" the lucky have 1 1/4" Management has been all over current, adversarial , laid back. to nepotism.

Good points 4 walls and a roof right off Valley metro stops...... Kicked off the Thomas,Rt 8 ,& light rail. walk to shopping Safeway only for now but soon Sprouts will have replaced the Basha's that as closed to redevelop the sight of the landmark building. Read More
